So to make a long story short, Evan burnt breakfast because of his melodramatic laughter and we are now occupying a slightly askew corner booth in Rita's Dinner. The smell of Windex is a bit abrasive on my nose but the sweet placid undertones of the apple pie and other sweets in the display case out front placate the harsh sent. The yellow and pink color scheme of the place is callous on my eyes since I am still recovering from my now minor hangover. But, all and all I do not renounce the little dinner I would diffidently come back here again.

"So what would you like to eat Sunshine?" Evan says to me from across the table.

I currently have my head buried in the menu. Some of the dishes look so alluring, maybe the paper taste just as good? I thought as I glanced over the ever so slightly gnarled and grotesque plastic covering the devein pictures . Our waitress finally comes over and takes our order.

" Hello I am Macy I will be your waiter today can I start y'all off with some refreshments?"

I look up at her and almost faint but, I was forced to repress my urges to publically humiliate myself . She is so skinny she looks emaciated!! her green eyes are stark against her dark complexion but nothing about her looks superficial. I'm a tad bit jealous.

"I will have a diet coke and she will have..."

"I will have a raspberry iced tea please and thank you." she takes our order and heads behind the counter to retrieve our drinks and in no time se is back.

She sets our drinks in front of us," are you guys ready to order?" she asks with her pad and pen at the ready.

" Yes actually," Evan says," I will have the pancake breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and lightly buttered toast."

I cannot fathom how he can eat that much my appetite is obsolete compared to his. Well I might as well be a bit indulgent with it I guess. "May I have the same please?" I asked her.

"Alrighty then I will be right out with your orders in no time." She then collected our menus and left us.

We talked about nonsense things until she came with our food. We played a mini game of truth or dare and a game he calls the 'what-if' game. It was fun to say the least. About a half hour later I get a tad bit over zealous and elated because I see her coming with our food.

"Oh my gosh this is AMAZING Evan!! Why don't they just call it a breakfast platter? That is such a misnomer." All I can think about is the crisp bacon and fluffy pancakes as I exult in the taste of the food. I deviate my attention from my eggs for just a second to sneak a peek at him and I see that he is Already done with his meal and staring at me.

Evan mumbles something incoherently and looks away from me.

"What did you say?" I raise my eye brows and bite my lip out of habit.

"Do you want to go out sometime, maybe a movie and diner?" He alludes to a nondescript date in an innocuous manner as he leans on his elbows and I see something flicker in his eyes but I cant pinpoint it. He wasn't sophomoric with the proposal but he was still confidence ,even if he did have a twinge of pink to his cheeks.

I ruminate for a second then I reply, "yeah I would like that, do you want to set a date?"

He took a slight respite, "is next weekend good for you?"

"Yeah it is...Saturday?"

Evan and I allocated the date but the itinerary has still yet to be chosen.

As we finish up our little outing he takes my hand not in a trenchant way but it was suave and gentle. It almost reminds me of maybe a boy with his first crush.
