"She's going to use all of the hot water in the building." Lauren stresses.
The six girls are sitting in Ally's living room, Lucy and Lauren taking the recliner as Lucy practically lays on top of Lauren. Ally, Normani, and Dinah take the couch and Hailee sits on the armrest. As soon as the words left Hailee's lips, Camila had turned deathly pale before excusing herself to the bathroom and it wasn't long after that when the shower turned on.
"Probably. She always takes long showers when she's upset. The shower, as weird as it sounds, is her safe place." Hailee comments, taking her time to observe each of Camila's friends. She can easily tell that Ally takes the motherly role in their group, she is nervously picking at her jeans and glancing in the direction of the bathroom, but every once in a while, she catches Lucy and Lauren being all lovey-dovey from the corner of her eye and shoots them a supportive smile. The girl notices Hailee watching her and gives her a friendly smile.
"Has she always done that?" She asks Hailee.
Hailee nods. "As long as I've known her. We shared a bathroom back in school and it was really the only place that we had to ourselves in there. Anytime one of the other kids picked on her or something, she used to always lock herself in the bathroom. I was worried at first, but she doesn't do anything, just thinks and writes music and stuff." Hailee shares. "It's therapeutic for her and I think after so many years at the school, it's just become a habit."
Dinah smiles a bit from her spot. "She writes music in the shower, I caught her once."
Hailee chuckles. "Yeah, she's a pain to share a bathroom with, but it really does wonders. Her stuff is amazing." Hailee watches Dinah nods then her face turns into a deep frown. She can't really tell what role Dinah plays, from how she looks, Hailee would assume the girl was playful, outgoing, and carefree. The type to bring the party, but her facial expressions tell otherwise. She looks sad and guilty about something, regretful. Normani reaches out to grab the girl's hand and give it a squeeze and Hailee decides that the girl probably did something to cause those feelings.
Hailee looks to Normani, the girl has a more serious looking aura than the others, but that's probably a good thing. Every group of goofballs needs a slightly less goofy-goofball to keep them in check. To be responsible. Normani is flawless look wise, not that Camila's other friends aren't beautiful, because they are, but out of all of them, she can definitely tell that Normani is the beauty/fashionista of them all. She seems wise and loyal, but just like Dinah, she has a distinct guilty look in her eyes and Hailee assumes her and Dinah both played a part in whatever it is that is going on.
"Um, so have you ever met Camila's dad?" Lucy breaks the silence, turning to Hailee.
"A few times." Hailee grumbles at the mention of the guy. "Not enough to know him, only enough to hate him."
"He's bad?" Lucy asks and Hailee knows that she means besides the obvious reason why she doesn't like the man.
"I mean, I didn't like him before the accident. He was all work and had little to no empathy. It's like his ability to connect to human emotions was broken or something. I think I only ever saw him smile once and he hardly ever interacted with Camila. No phone calls or visits and he was always cancelling on her when we had days off of school. Sort of, impersonal I guess. Although I like the term born-and-raised asshole." Hailee jokes.
Lauren laughs loudly when everyone else chuckles and Hailee has a feeling she will get along with Lauren the best. They both seem insanely protective of their friends, the common denominator being Camila. They both have similar senses of humor too.
