"Keith, I need to speak with you," His father said pulling him out of his dazed walk through the halls.
"Yes father?" He asked stopping in front of him. The man before him was known to many as Emperor Zarkon, ruler of the galaxy and king of all Galra, but to Keith this man was his father.
"Do you remember the Altean visitors we had a few weeks ago?" His father asked. Keith nodded his head remembering the the group fairly easily. There had been three of them that had visited, two of which were the prince and princess of Altea, the third was their royal advisor. The royal advisor, Coran Keith thought was his name, was quite the character. He had bright orange hair and a large mustache, he was very nice and had a sense of humor but was protective over the princess and wouldn't let the prince out of his sight. The princess, Allura, was very pretty with long silver hair, blue eyes, darker skin and a kind smile. The prince, Lance, was a very flirtatious person who made terrible jokes and seemed to get into trouble a lot. He was quite handsome though, with short light brown hair, darker tanned skin and bright blue eyes which were complimented by the blue color of the small boomerang shape all Alteans had just under their eyes. All of the Alteans were taller than Keith but he was considered short for a Galra anyway. Keith himself had fluffy purple cat-like ears and lilac eyes with a black mullet and pale purple skin.
"Yes father, what about them?" Keith asked starting to let his mind wander again.
"I have talked with King Alfor and we have come to an agreement that we will be joining our kingdoms," He announced.
"That is good news," Keith said.
"Yes, but to achieve this we have decided that our children must be the ones to make this happen," He continued.
"What are you saying?" Keith asked, confused as to how he would be of help in this.
"I am saying that you will marry the Altean princess to unite our kingdoms," His father explained.
"But father I do not know the princess and do not wish to be marry her," Keith said quickly.
"Keith this is for the good of the Galra empire, and if we are partnered with Altea we will be even more powerful," His father tried to explain.
"I don't want power, I want to be happy," Keith said and left, walking to his room.
Keith had avoided talking about the marriage with his father for the better half of two weeks but now the Alteans were coming back for another visit. He walked into the main room to greet their guests seeing that King Alfor had come this time. His father and the king were talking while Coran was trying to keep Lance and Allura from arguing about something. When Allura saw him she stopped talking to her brother and walked over to Keith.
"Good morning Prince Keith," She said with a warm smile.
"Good morning Princess," He replied bowing. Lance had noticed Keith and walked over. He bowed to Keith and said a polite hello.
"Keith please come here," His father called. Keith quickly excused himself and walked over to his father.
"Hello Keith, it's nice to finally meet you," King Alfor said with a smile.
"It's nice to meet you aswell," He said bowing.
"I'm very pleased that you have decided to marry my daughter," Alfor mentioned happily. Keith smiled politely, internally gagging at the idea.
"I'm sure that the Princess is happy about the marriage as well," Keith father said trying to get me to answer something.
"She seems happy to see me but I have not spoken much with her," Keith replied. Sometime during the conversation Lance had found his way over to them.
"Father why does Prince Keith have to marry Allura?" Lance asked his father.
"To join our kingdoms," He answered simply.
"I know, but I mean why does he have to marry her? I would gladly marry such a noble Prince," Lance explained.
"Lance I don't think that Prince Keith wants-" King Alfor started to reply but Keith cut into the conversation.
"I would gladly marry such a handsome Prince," Keith said feeling his father's glare on his back. Lance's face turned a light shade of red before he looked back at his father.
"If that is okay with Lord Zarkon then I will allow it," Alfor said slightly surprised. Keith's father thought for a moment weighing the consequences.
"It is fine as long as the plans stay the same," He replied a little unhappy with the conversation.
"Wait, really?" Keith asked, a smile growing on his face. His father nodded to him before continuing a conversation with King Alfor and walking a few feet away.
"So hot stuff, how are you?" Lance asked putting his arm around Keith.
"Please don't make me regret choosing you," Keith said with a smile.
"Come on, I was just asking how your day has been," Lance defended in a whiny tone.
Keith rolled his eyes before replying, "My day has been fine." Allura walked over to them and stood a little too close to Keith.
"So how is my king to be?" Allura asked moving a little closer. Keith leaned away from her towards Lance.
"I'm sorry but I am not your king, let alone your prince," Keith replied sounding confident but he wasn't.
Allura looked confused, "What do you mean, we are to get married," she looked to Lance finally noticing him.
"Prince Keith is marrying me," Lance said.
"He's supposed to marry me," Allura argued.
"I'm marrying Prince Lance that's final," Keith cut in. Allura stormed away, going to her father. They talked for a while before Allura went to go sit by Coran.
"I guess I'm staying here with you from now on," Lance said.
"Yeah, I guess you are," Keith confirmed.
It only took about a week for everything to be ready for the wedding and the wedding itself didn't last very long. That was a week ago though and now Lance and Keith were sitting in the front room. There was a loud bang and Keith fell to the floor, Allura standing behind him. She held a purple blaster in her hand pointed in the direction Keith had been sitting. Lance rushed to Keith's side looking at his sister mortified.
"What did you do?!" He screamed.
"Don't you ever listen? You can't take what's not yours Lance!" She yelled back lowering the blaster to face Lance.
"Allura stop!" Lance tried.
"No, I can't have you telling father what I've done, so goodbye brother," She said, calmly pulling the trigger and watching as her brother fell over bleeding out on the floor with Prince Keith.
