Short Prologue

Charlotte's POV

Hi, my name is Charlotte, but everybody calls me Char. I'm 18 years old. My dad died in a car accident 8 years ago. It's been my mom and I since then, until recently of course. My mother got engaged to a man she had been dating for 5 years. He is very nice, his name is John he holds a solid job and has a teenage son named Matthew, Matt for short. I've lived in Australia my whole. It's mid June and my mom gets married in July and after that, we are moving to John's house. John's house was much nicer than ours. Much bigger too. I will be moving away from all my friends, but that's okay, I'm sure I can make new ones. Matt and I are the same age, he can introduce me, right? Moving and making friends aren't the things I'm worried about. It's the boy next door.
