Josh's Pov
I decided to go Mina's job today to talk to her. I found out from my mom that their was a girl named Mina who worked in the cafeteria at the hospital. I walked in there. I actually felt pretty good today. I haven't seen Simone in a couple of days, I miss her. We need to work on this project I will probably go see her after this.
"Mina." I said.
"What do you want freakshow?" Mina said.
"Listen I'm tired of you messing with me and Simone." I said to her.
"Well why would I want to stop doing that?" She asked.
"Because your hurting innocent people." I said.
"So your the heffa that won't leave my son alone." said my mom.
"Mom, I got this leave please." I said.
"Mommy fights your battles. Aw isn't that cute." said Mina with a smirk on her face.
"Listen here your going to leave my son alone." My mom told her.
"And what if I don't?" Asked Mina.
"Come on mom." I said to her.
My mom and I walked off. I knew once we went back to school Mina wasn't going to left me here the end of it. I need stress reliever bad.
I decided on calling Simone.
Simone: Hello
Josh: Hey, Wyd
Simone: Nothing
Josh: I'm on my way to come get you.
Simone: Where are we going?
Josh: Just driving around town, why
Simone: No reason. I'll be ready.
I really wanted to tell her about what happened today and we needed to work on this project because I'm not trying to fail. As I was pulling up to her house she was coming out the door.
"You couldn't wait?" I asked her when she opened up the car door.
"I was just so bored." she said.
"So how was your day?" I asked her.
"It was alright. Just watching more tags and filling out college applications." She told me.
"How are you applications going?" I asked her.
"They are just boring and long." She said. "How was your day?" She asked me.
"It was not so good." I said.
"Well what happened?" She asked me.
Simone's Pov
After he finished telling me what happened at the hospital today I was just disgusted. Like how can you even disrespect someone's mom. I can see hurting the person, but don't bully his mom too. That's just all kinds of wrong.
"Simone"
"Simone"
"Simone" Josh repeated.
"What?" I asked him.
"You weren't saying anything when I called you." He said.
"Sorry, but Mina just makes me so mad. Like I can't stand her." I said.
"Listen I don't want to think about this anymore how about we go get some ice cream." He suggested.
"Sure, I'd like that." I said back to him.
We pulled up to some little spot on the other side of town. I had never been here before.
"What kinda ice cream can I get you?" Asked the lady at the window.
"I would like a-"gco
"Excuse me I was talking to the customer beside you. Not you." She said.
"Well we are here together so, I would like a caramel sundae." I told her.
"I want a chocolate sundae. You know chocolate ice cream with hot fudge?" He asked her.
"Well that will be extra and that's a lot of chocolate." She said.
"Well I love chocolate. I can't get enough of it. I think they said it makes you live longer." He said smirking at me.
"Okay I'll get those orders." She said.
"I can't believe you just did that." I said to him once we got back in the car.
"Maybe this project is wearing off on me." He said.
I just laughed.
"Go get our ice cream white boy." I told him as I laughed.
We drove to the park where we could just talk and clear our minds.
"So, what's the last part of the project for creative writing?" Josh asked me.
"Actually we have to pretend to be in a relationship for a week." I said.
"We have to do what?" He shouted.
" You heard me the first time."I told him.
"Okay, this should be interesting." He said.
We drove around for awhile just talking about life and other things. I'm just glad that he is a little more open to talking to me now. Still I do most of the talking in conversations, but he's working on it.
Next Week
"Hello class! I know that last week I announced that the relationship project was cancelled. Well the school said that we have to do it. Apparently I was looking at the wrong course outline." said our teacher.
"This project is 20% of your grade so the only other option is failure." She said.
"How long does this project last." I asked her.
"This project lasts only 2 weeks. I have everything planned out for you guys. Mini-dates have been scheduled for each group.
So no double dating to make this easier. I know that you guys are wondering how this pertains to creative writing. Well it's the creative part. At the end of this assignment you guys are going to write a 1 page paper for me to read only about your experience." She said.
"I guess we could give this a try." I said.
We continued to talk about the assignment. Then the bell rang. We had a short class today due to it being early release.
"Simone" I heard some call me. I turned around and it was Josh.
"Hi, so I'm looking really forward to working on this project with you." He said.
"That's great. I'm really happy that you are." I said.
"Don't we need to exchange numbers to keep up with each other. I mean before we were just friends...I meant we still are. I don't know." He said blushing.
"I get what you are trying to say." I gave him my number and then I kept walking to my next class.
As our last class was ending Josh slide a piece of paper to me that said to meet him outside for lunch. I agreed since it was Friday.
"Hey." Someone said.
"Hi Josh." I said back to him.
"Are you ready for our lunch date?" He asked me.
"What lunch date?" I asked him.
"It's the first date that we have to go on. Didn't you read the directions for this project." He said.
"Yeah. Not really."I said.
I don't know what we're getting ourselves into but I hope it will be fun.
