Here I stood in a room packed full of people, wall to wall there was groups of friends laughing and talking. Everyone was sipping on whatever mixed cocktail the bartender would make you overpay for.
I leaned over on a vacant table, staring around the room; people watching I guess you could call it. I noticed how everyone was chatting, laughing and probably thinking of who is going to get lucky tonight.
The desire for the club life is boring, going out every Friday or Saturday and getting drunk with friends, wearing too little of clothes to get attention. I applaud every female who does this, but I can't help but think that it would be a bland way to spend your weekend.
I sighed and placed my hands on the cool table, weird how it was so cold but the building felt like a sauna. I started to walk away. With the flashing lights and loud music, sweating bodies touching each other, I tried to make my way through the crowd. My friends I came here with were no where to be found, I think Sarah ditched me for some guy she "bumped" into on our way in here. Who knows where Taylor and Alissa were.
As people started to accidentally push on me, or rub against me in this herd of twenty-something-year olds, I think I said "Excuse me," a million times already. Incoherent of course, I couldn't even hear my own voice. It was lost in the sea of people.
I don't think I can make my way out of here, I don't even know where I'm headed. I started to find a clear path then I spotted someone. You know the feeling when you see a really hot stranger in public, but think, "Man I will probably only see them once in my life." Yeah that feeling tends to happen in clubs a lot. He looked over at me, at least I think, I was starting to feel awkward in my short blue dress. I shouldn't of let Sarah dress me, especially in these heels. Why do clubs insist that you dress nice?
I darted my eyes away from him, making a left turn out of the crowd. I spotted the door and picked up my pace a little, no thanks to these heels hurting my feet. I passed by some of the workers here, smiling before I left; kind of like a good bye.
As I opened the door I could feel the fresh cold air hit my face, I inhaled deeply. I was satisfied to get out, it was so awkward standing around alone. I didn't even drink tonight... Well I drunk one cooler, but it's a cooler for Christ sake.
I stood outside for a moment, how was I supposed to get home? Taylor and Alissa were missing for a good 20 minutes and Sarah was gone the whole night, I guess I'll call a cab or-
"Hey," I whipped around, hoping to see a familiar face. It wasn't, it was the guy I passed. "You caught my eye back there, I just wanted to introduce myself."
The stranger smiled at me, I gave a small smile back. "Hey, nice to meet you-"
"Cameron," he gave me a small laugh, I think I spoke too soon. I need to learn how to talk to strangers.
"Ah well let me start over, it's nice to meet you Cameron. I'm Liv." I nodded in reply, smiling up at him again. He was quite handsome, tall, dark features, all black hair and dark brown eyes. He even had small dimples, and a bit of stubble. Quite handsome indeed.
"Beautiful name, short for Olivia if I'm not wrong? What are you doing out in The View?" What an awkward way to make small talk, i think he's looking for a generic answer like 'oh you know just out on girls night hehe!'
"I was dragged out here by some friends," I looked around laughing, "as you can see they aren't here anymore." Oh my god, what if he's a creep or something? I mean he's absolutely handsome, gorgeous in fact, but he's also a stranger. Possibly a serial killer, who knows. I laughed, knowing that wasn't true.
"That's no fun, are you going to go home then? You should stay for a bit, maybe I can make your night a little better." I raised an eyebrow in question, was he already suggesting something?
"I mean, have a good time and lift up your spirits. I don't mean anything." He gave an awkward laugh, motioning towards the club entrance.
