Harry’s POV

It’s been a month since Alfie was born and he was finally settling into his sleeping patterns. Today we were taking him for his 1 month check up at the hospital. Somehow I could tell Juliet didn’t want to go.

“NO!” She yelled loudly, stamping her feet. “I don’t want to go!”

“Julie we have to go. The doctor has to give Alfie his check-up.” Louis said calmly. He’s always good at dealing with tantrums.

“I don’t want to go!” She yelled again.

“Sweetie what’s the matter?” I asked walking over to her with Alfie.

“Him!” She said pointing at him.

“Why? What’s wrong with Alfie?” I asked again confused.

“It’s always about him!” She cried.

“Uh oh.” I heard Louis whisper. This is what we didn’t want to happen.

“What do you mean Julie?” I questioned even know I knew what she was talking about.

“Everyone always talks about him. They never want to play with me anymore. They don’t love me.” She whispered.

“Hey, everyone loves you baby. Alfie may be our little man but you’ll always be our princess. We still love you honey and sometimes we don’t play with you but that’s just because we’re tired or busy. We always have time for you no matter what.” I said seriously.

“Really?” She hiccupped.

“Of course baby girl.” Louis smiled coming over. “We’re a family. We’ll always love you.”

“So are you going to come with us?” I asked.

“Ok daddy. But can we have cupcakes after?” She smiled patting her eyelashes.

“Lou, what do you think?” I asked.

“Hm…” He pondered stroking his chin. “I think we can manage that.” He smiled.

“Yay!” Juliet giggled and ran off to find her shoes.

“This can’t happen again. I was worried.” I sighed.

“I know Haz. We need to make sure we give them both equal attention.” I nodded in agreement. “That means maybe having just a night with her. Without Alfie.”

“W-what?” I questioned. I didn’t hear him right.

“You heard me Harry. This was going to happen one day.” He said seriously.

“But not right now. He’s only just sleeping through until 4. What if he stays somewhere and breaks the pattern? Then we’ll have to start all over again.” I argued.

“Babe, we need to give Juliet time with us. Now I love Alfie to pieces but he is kind of coming between that.”

“But Lou! I don’t wanna give him away.” I frowned.

“It’s just for the night. I’m sure your mum will love to have him.” He chuckled.

“But Julie’s asleep by 7:30.” I pouted.

“I don’t care. Ask you mum about him staying tomorrow night, or I will.” He warned and walked off.

“Don’t let him get to you Alfie. I’ll win this round.” I mumbled before following him.

After about another 20 minutes of arguing I finally agreed to let Alfie stay with mum tomorrow night. Not that I wanted him to. I want to spend time with Juliet but Alfie needs us too.
