Thomas & Friends - A Week in America - Part 1

It was a bright summer morning on the Island of Sodor. Thomas and his friends were lounging around in the sitting room when Thomas barged through the front door. Everyone was surprised.

"Guess what guys!" cried Thomas. "What?" asked Edward. "I got tickets for all of us to go to America!" replied Thomas excitedly. Everyone cheered and clapped for joy.

"Where are we going in America?" asked James. "Miami; Florida," replied Thomas, "We'll be leaving in two days, so I suggest we should start packing." Everyone agreed and went back to their rooms to start packing.

Thomas was in his room, packing his suitcase when Percy came in. "Hi Thomas! Which pair of trousers should I bring with me? These brown ones or these dark green ones?" Thomas thought for a moment. "Why not bring them both?" Percy liked his idea and packed them both in his suitcase.

Emily was packing one of her favourite dresses to take with her when something came to her head. She ran to Thomas' room. "Thomas, I need to buy some sandals. Can we go to the mall quickly?" Emily asked. "Sure, why not," replied Thomas. They both got into Thomas' car and they both drove to the mall.

James and Gordon were packing their favourite suit that they used to go to special occasions. "I can't wait to go to America!" exclaimed Gordon. "Me too!" cried James, "I hope they have good stores there. I'd love to go shopping!"

Meanwhile, Thomas and Emily were at the Sodor Mall and were at City Beach. Emily looked around with Thomas when she found a pair of beautiful, tan-coloured sandals. She showed them to Thomas. "These are beautiful, Emily! It will certainly look beautiful on you," said Thomas. Emily blushed and kissed Thomas on the cheek. Thomas went as red as a rose.

Thomas paid for the sandals for Emily and they both went back home. At home, Percy was talking to his parents on his phone. "I'll miss you!" he said. "We'll miss you two darling, and tell your brother; Thomas that we'll miss him too," replied Percy's mother. "I will," said Percy and he hung up.

Just then, Thomas came back with Emily. Percy ran up to him. "Thomas! Mum told me to tell you that she will miss you and me," he told Thomas. "Well I'll miss them too. I'll ring them later, but now I have to continue packing." And Thomas walked away to his room.

Soon, nighttime had come and Thomas and his friends were having dinner. "Thomas, what time will we be leaving?" asked Toby. "4:30am," replied Thomas, "so you all will have to set your alarms." Everyone agreed as they finished up their dinner. Thomas was about to head off to bed when Emily stopped him.

"Wait Thomas!" Emily cried. Thomas looked back. "What's the matter?" asked Thomas. "Can I sleep with you tonight? I had a bad dream last night and hadn't told anyone yet." Thomas was surprised. "What was your bad dream?" he asked. "I'll tell you tomorrow," she replied. "Yes, you can," said Thomas. "Really?" Emily asked. Thomas nodded. Emily hugged him and they both went to bed after, looking forward to go to America.

The next day, Thomas and his friends all went to the embassy to get their visas. When they arrived, they got their visas and went to the mall for some fun. Thomas and Emily went to the food court, Percy, Toby and Edward went to a shop called "Dusk", and James, Gordon and Henry went to the sushi bar to eat sushi.

Percy, Toby and Edward wondered around the store. There were many different candles. Edward smelt one of them and fell in love with it instantly. "Percy! Toby! Come and smell this candle! It smells amazing!" shouted Edward from across the store. Percy and Toby ran towards him. Edward showed them the candle and they both smelt it.

"Wow! That candle is more than amazing, its, FANTASTIC!" shouted Toby. Everyone in the store looked at him. Toby's face was red with embarrassment and hid behind Edward. Percy laughed.

Meanwhile, Thomas and Emily were at Lovisa. Emily were looking at the necklaces while Thomas was at the checkout, getting a surprise for Emily. Once he was done, he called Emily to meet him outside of the store. Emily ran to him and Thomas showed Emily her surprise.

Thomas pulled out beautiful, emerald earrings. Emily was so happy she kissed Thomas with joy. James, Gordon and Henry were watching and laughed.

Later, everyone was back home. They were excited for tomorrow. "I can't wait for tomorrow!" screamed Henry. "I've always wanted to go to Miami," commented James. "Well tomorrow, we all have to wake up early. Tomorrow will be an exiting week," said Thomas.
