M3). -Summer's POV-

I haven't seen Easton in like a week. Who shows a girl that they're half fish and kind of promises her that he'll tell her all about mermaids? Easton does.

I was currently wearing my bikini and laying in my hammock enjoying the sun since I can't swim because of the stupid stitches. I was almost starting to believe that merpeople didn't really exist and it was all some crazy dream from the pills the doctor told me to take for the pain. I sighed and then heard a familiar voice. "Did you miss me, Summer?" I opened my eyes and through my tinted sunglasses I saw a shirtless Easton, for the third time. I moved my glasses to the top of my head and said, "Not particularly. You really need to get some clothes, too." I told him. Even though part of me didn't really mind seeing his well toned abs and biceps. He sat down on one of the lawn chairs that was by me and said, "Nah. I like being like this. Besides, I came back. I'm sure you have some questions to ask me." He told me with a smile. I had a lot of questions for him. "So, is your type considered human or mammal like dolphins?" I asked him, avoiding the 'M' word. Even though both of my neighbors were like in their 80s, I didn't want to say it out loud. "You've heard of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution with how people used to be sea animals but eventually grew feet and went on land, right?" He asked me and I nodded in response. "A theory among my kind is that when we were like Neanderthals, some of them stayed on land while the rest went out to the sea where we evolved. So technically, we are human." He explained to me. In theory, it made sense. "Then why do you have legs?" I asked him as I pointed to his muscular legs. "All part of evolution. My ancestors walked and swam so we have both legs and fins." He told me. "You said last time that you forgot how soda tasted, does that mean you've spent time on land before?" I asked him. "Yes. It's kind of like what the Amish do. When you turn a certain age, they let you go on land and experience everything people with legs experience. We have a choice of what we want to do." He told me. "So there are more of you?" I asked him. He nodded and said, "About 20 or so in my group." "Can I meet some of them?" I asked him. "Not everyone likes Leggies though." He told me. I guess Leggies was slang for leg people. "I can easily change people's opinions." I told him with a smile as I got up from the hammock. He followed suit and said, "Fine."

I follow him all the way down the beach towards the shallow waters by the cliffs. I never came over here before because of all the jagged rocks that you can get cut by. Easton seem to know his way around them though. We came to a stop at a mouth of a cave. "Wait here and let me just prepare my friends." Easton told me before going inside the cave. I waited a few minutes until Easton's head popped out and motioned me to follow him. I followed behind him into the some what dark cave. When we reached the back of the cave, I was surprised to find light coming through from a giant hole on the ceiling of the cave. I looked out from behind Easton and saw so many mermaids and mermen. Some of the mermaids had no covering over their chests so it was pretty awkward seeing all of that. They all are really comfortable with their bodies. Some blonde girl that was sitting on a rock looked over in our direction and smiled as she saw Easton. She got in the water and swam towards us. "There you are, Easton. I was wondering where you swam off too. Take off those stupid shorts and get in." She told him and tried reaching for his shorts. I don't know if that's considered desperate or normal here. He took a step back away from her reach which caused him to bump into me. I stumbled back a bit but kept my balance. "I can't, Nicole. I have a guest with me." He told the girl named Nicole. "Who?" She asked him. I poked my head out from behind Easton and waved awkwardly as I said, "That'll be me." She got out of the water with, legs this time instead of her pink tail, and walked over to me in her nakedness. She looked kind of jealous and pissed off. "You brought a Leggie here?!? You could of at least found someone more attractive to bring here than that." She said to Easton while pointing at me.

Oh hell no. This stupid little mermaid did not just call me ugly.

I put my hand on my hip and said, "Really? You're calling me ugly? You should try taking a good look in the mirror. Oh wait, you probably don't own a mirror so you wouldn't know how ugly you really look." I smiled as a scowl appeared on her face. "What did you just say to me?" She said through her teeth. "I called you ugly. Maybe you should get the salt water out of your ears so you can hear me better." I taunted her. She was about to lunge at me but someone pushed her in the water. "Get the hell out of here, Nicole. You're so annoying." The black haired girl told her. Nicole glared at us both before swimming out of the cave with a few of her friends.
