M2). I was in the hospital for about two days, well only because I demanded that they let me leave. I'm sure the nurses got annoyed by me after one day of chants of 'Let me out' every time they enter my room to check on my arm or to change the I.V. thing; I annoyed the crap out of this guy who had to share a room with me. I got about a 100 stitches in my arm and they even found a shark tooth stuck in my arm, which I made into a necklace. I still had that guy's necklace though. It was pretty. It's material that acted like thread was woven and had different types of small seashells hanging from it. I had it around my neck along with the shark tooth necklace.
My friends told me I was nuts for going out there, but I never told them about fish boy. They'd say I'd finally lost it then.
It was the afternoon and I walked along the the beach with the waves hitting my feet. I owned a beach house and all the houses along here had access to this private beach. I looked out towards the water and just wanted to see that guy again. I needed to know what he is. I went to my favorite place on the beach. I sat on a rock and looked in this little shallow pool of water. I pulled out a starfish and watched it wiggle in my hands. I giggled and placed it back in the water. I suddenly got depressed. I so wish I could take a picture of this. But I dropped my camera when I was attacked by the shark and underwater cameras are pricey. "You just can't stay away, can you?" I glanced over and saw the guy from before. "I was a dolphin in a past life so the water is my calling. I see you're wearing shorts this time." I said to him sarcastically. He sat down next to me and said, "I came here for my necklace." "I'm not giving it back until I get answers." I told him as I touched the necklace. "Not even for this?" He asked me as he pulled out my camera that I lost. "I'm not going to give in. I have plenty of pictures from before that I haven't used yet saved on my computer. Just please tell me. I'm not stupid. I've dived in these waters once a week since I got my house. I know the animals here. That fin was too big to be a fish and seals aren't green. So tell me, fish boy." I told him. Fish boy wasn't my best insult but I don't even know his name. "First off, my name is Easton not fish boy. Before I tell you anything, you need to tell me your name." He told me. "Summer Oceania Evans." I told him. He didn't look like he believed me though. "Really? Summer Oceania?"
"Yes. My father is a marine biologist. Kind of a given that I'd get that name." I told him while I rolled my eyes. "You must have gotten your love for the ocean from him if you're swimming in shark infested waters all alone." He told me as he looked out at the water. "Pretty much. So are you going to tell me what's going on or I keep your necklace and we move on with our lives?" I asked him. He looked like he was having an internal with himself and said, "Fine," some neighbors of mine passed by and I waved at them as they looked at Easton strangely, "But not here." "Alright." I told him as I stood up. He followed suit and we walked to my house. "Do you want anything to drink? I have soda and iced tea, unless you want water." I said to him as I watched him look around my living room. I'm not really sure if he ever had soda before. "Soda will be fine." He said to me as he stared at the pictures that were on the wall. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a can of soda from the fridge. "Did you take all of these pictures?" I heard him ask me from the living room. I walked in with the soda in hand and said, "Yeah. It's a hobby, but sometimes I sell pictures to magazines or websites if I need extra cash." I gave him his soda and then sat down on the chair. He sat down on the couch across from me and opened the can of soda. I watched as he took a big drink of soda and then set down the can with a big sigh, "I almost forgot how soda tasted." "So lets get to talking." I told him as I waited for an answer. "Since you're too stubborn to let things go after I saved your life and hold my mother's necklace ransom, I have no choice but to tell you now. I am a merman." He told me. My eyebrows rose as I stared at him.
"Really? A merman like from "The Little Mermaid"?"
"Pretty much, but with a few slight differences and there are no fat, evil, octopus women who can do magic." He told me.
