A/N: And so it continues... (Warning: Angels will cry.)
Castiel waited patiently for Sam and Dean to finish eating. Dean had told Sam about Cas's situation (much to his dismay) and the new information sent the answer to the problem farther away. After they finished it was already late at night. Dean yawned and stretched. "Man, I'm tired," He stood up from his chair. "You going to bed?"
"Huh? Oh, not yet."
"Okay. Goodnight, Sam, Cas." Dean walked over to his bed and fell down on it.
"Goodnight, Dean." Sam and Castiel said.
Sam opened up his laptop and continued with his attempt at research. Castiel was swinging his feet in a chair on the other side of the room. Sam raised an eyebrow when he heard a small yawn. He looked over to where Castiel sat and saw that he was starting to fall asleep. "Cas?" Sam spoke up. Castiel's head shot up at the sound of Sam's voice. "I think you should go to bed."
"I don't sleep..."
Sam stood up and walked over to Cas. "Circumstances are a little different now," he picked up Castiel. "Until you're back to normal you have to act human." Sam set down Castiel next to Dean. "That means you have to sleep. Goodnight."
Castiel didn't respond as he had already fallen asleep.
Sam sighed and walked back to the table. Everything would be better after he finds a way to turn them back to normal.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Dang it, Cas!"
Sam's eyes snapped open and he lifted his head off the table that he apparently slept on. He rubbed his eyes and stood up.
"It's friendly, Dean!"
"It is not! You grabbed it from outside!"
"It was scratching on the door!"
Sam ran a hand through his hair and observed the scene. Castiel was sitting on the bed hugging a kitten and Dean had his arms crossed, looking very upset.
"Get rid of it."
"No!"
Sam just watched in silence. This was a strange thing to wake up to in the morning.
"Put it back outside." Dean commanded.
"I said no, Dean!"
Castiel hopped off the bed. But before he could do anything else, Dean grabbed his coat. Castiel made a little noise of surprise and almost dropped the kitten. Cas turned to face Dean.
"Let go of my coat, Dean!" Castiel used his hand that wasn't holding the kitten to try to break his coat free from Dean's grasp.
"Not until you get rid of that stupid animal!" Dean gripped the coat tighter.
"No!"
Sam decided to step in, with much reluctance. "Dammit, Dean, just let go of his coat."
Dean frowned. "Fine!" He let go of the coat when Castiel was pulling on it.
Castiel fell backwards, letting go of the kitten in the process. The kitten ran to the door and sat down as if it was waiting for someone to open the door for it. Castiel looked up at Dean with tears in his eyes. Dean looked away and crossed his arms. Sam frowned at Dean's actions as Castiel started to cry. Sam picked up Castiel and Castiel wrapped his little arms around his neck.
"Dean," Sam said in a stern tone. "Apologize. Now."
Dean turned his back to Sam.
"Dean." Sam repeated.
"I'm not apologizing, Sam."
"And why not?"
"Because he's just being a baby!"
Castiel gripped Sam's shirt tight.
Sam frowned. He put Castiel down on the bed. Cas looked up at him, confused. "Wait here a moment," Sam told him. Castiel nodded and looked down at the blanket on the bed.
Sam walked over to Dean and grabbed his hand.
"Hey!" Dean protested and tried to break away.
Sam just walked over to the door - dragging Dean with him - and opened it, the kitten running out. They stepped out of the room and Sam closed the door. Dean broke out of Sam's grasp.
"What the heck, Sam?!" Dean yelled.
"Why are you being a dick all of a sudden?" Sam shouted back. "You were fine yesterday!"
Dean was silent for a moment. "I... I'm just frustrated," he paused. "I mean we're acting the age we look. And I don't like it."
Sam took a deep breath. "I'll find out what's doing this, okay? But right now you need to go apologize to Cas."
Sam opened the door and they both walked in. Castiel didn't look up. Dean looked up at Sam. "Do you think this apology will work?" Sam shrugged. "Only one way to find out."
Dean walked over to Castiel. "Hey, Cas."
Castiel didn't respond.
"Cas, listen, I'm sorry for what I did."
Castiel didn't look up or even acknowledge that Dean was standing in front of him.
"Cas?"
"Babies can't speak, Dean." Castiel said still looking down.
Dean frowned slightly. He didn't realize what he had said affected Castiel so much. "I didn't mean it, Cas. I was just angry. I'm sorry."
Castiel didn't say anything.
Dean felt his heart breaking slowly from what he did.
She smiled wickedly as she pet the kitten. Everything was going according to plan. Even better than according to plan, might she add. They had no idea what was happening. The fighting was just a pleasant extra. All she had to do was get the angel separated from the brothers and her plan would be complete. No more Winchesters and one less angel. She laughed evilly. "They make this too easy..."
"Alice." A voice spoke from the other side of the room.
The kitten hissed. Alice frowned. "Yes? What do you want?"
"When will I get what I came to you for?"
Alice's wicked smile returned. "Almost, sweetie. The plan is falling into place perfectly."
"You said that yesterday. I did my part of the deal, Alice. When will you do yours?"
"Patience, my dear. You will soon have your angel." Her smile widened. "And I will soon rid the world of the Winchesters forever."
