A weird guy

Waking up in shock, Collin set upright in bed - breathing heavily. He blinked while his eyes got used to the blinding light.

His shirt was soaked in sweat. The morning sun was shining trough his window; warming his shivering body. His breathing was still uneven, so he laid his hand against his chest. Rubbing over his shirt, trying to calm himself.

>>Wired dream; kind of wicked.
It had felt so damn real.<<

It had been long since the last dream had shocked him so hard. Every once in a while they came and go. The neurologist, he had visited at an younger age, hadn't had a solution. Therapy, pills and all these things had never helped for long. So he just lived with it. The dreams were not horrible, there were just... strange.

One glimpse on his alarm clock and he knew there was no point in going back to sleep. In an half hour his buzzer would go on. So he swung his legs over the side of the bed and with on last calm breath, he stand up.
It was time to start a new day!

...

The hot and steaming water, that was flowing down his body, took the last bist of tension. For just a moment every morning, he let his head rest against the shower wall.
On moment a day - where he did not think. Today he had time, so he let his mind drive far. The water was falling in an steady rhythm.

Drop, Drop ,Drop
Hypnotic.

Closed eyes, a hand resting against the wall, he almost drifted back to sleep. So he pushed his body up and turned the warm water off.

The streamed over mirror hid Collin's face. Blurry. Smearing over the surface, he wiped away the stream on the mirror.  A boyish redhead was looking back at him. Starring back at his reflection, he ruffles his noes. He wasn't looking at his best. The wakeful night shown its outcome.
His eyes were blood shout and sleepy looking. With dark circles under them - to complete the look. Collin looked beaten. Like so often. Aaannd... to celebrate the new day! - with an over night appearance, there were a pimple or two.
>>Whoop-de-do!<<

Sometimes he disliked what he saw in the mirror, but for the most time he was pleased. He was not bad looking. At most times... Just not a magazine cover guy.  His visage, his appearance had character. On of the things he really liked about himself. He was special, but not too much. His red hair was a thing for itself. He never really had a problem with it, personally, but... High School was a hell of a place, for like - everyone?! So it was no a surprise, that some students picked on him. Good that he had balls! - and a really big mouth. A dirty smile spread across his face.

>>These bastards.<<
No one was messing with him - not without consequences. He made sure of it. Nodding to himself, he left the bathroom and walked back to his room.
Time to get ready!

He was a man of routine. At this point everything was planed out and organized. The clothes were laid out: undershirt, boxer briefs, socks, black jeans, dark green pullover. Folded and stacked. The school bag was packed, sorted out. His room tidy, clean. Everything had his place.

Collin hated it, to wast time on searching for something. When everything was where it belonged, life was so much easier. When ever he come into his room, he was pleased with himself. He loved it.

So you can say, Collin was a weird guy. But we all know - that normal is boring. Normal is just... not enough! Be strange to the fingertips, that is a slogan to live after.

...

Out off his room, down the hallway and turning right; he entered the kitchen. The tiny kitchen was like everything in his house, clean. With a deep breath Collin began his daily procedure.
He turned up his pullover, flopped in his slippers and opened the fridge. When he was done taking out everything he needed, he begone to make breakfast for two. The toast in the toaster, putt eggs in the frying pan, pouring juice in two glasses.

>>Damn!<<
The News were through. He had forgotten to turn on the radio. It had slipped his mind. This morning was evidently not his.

"Karen, Breakfast is ready!" He yelled. Sitting down on the counter he began to slice his eggs, buttering his toast. After, something like five minutes, a half awake, or more half asleep woman stumbled in the kitchen. "Morning." she mumbled. Yawning she walked closer to Collin and ruffled through his hair. "Kar! Stop it!"
How he hated it when she did that. When would she behave like an adult. For god sake. She was now 27 and still behaving like a teenager.

>>The adult in this household is clearly me. She is such a child.<<

"Did you make me a coffee?"
"No! You know it is not good to consume so much caffeine."
"You are such an brat, Coll"
She giggles and began to fill an empty glass with tap water.
"I can handle myself!"
Collin gave her a doubtfully glance.
"...Moth of the time."
"Yeah right!"
And they both chuckled.
"Thanks for the food, munchkin."
"you welcome, honey poo." Collin protrude his tongue.

A catchy Song was played on the radio, Karen began to hum with it. Without talking, they both finished there breakfast and began to clean the kitchen together - in union. The Quit was not awkward. The silence was warm and loving. There was no words needed. Collin and his aunt Karen were a winning team.  She was not an morning person, so he made them breakfast and sometimes, when she came home form work punctual, he made dinner. She payed the bills and had always open armes and ears. Collin had to be more an adult as he should, but that was okey.
There were only two left.
There were all they had.
Each other.

"When will you be home?"
"Late... 9 pm?"
Collin nodded. So he wouldn't have to wait for her.
"You are going out, after work?"
"My workmates and i are going out for a drink at Teddy's."
"Have fun."

Both of them had a smile on there lips, as Collin closed the door behind him. His jacket on, his bag on the shoulder, he began to walk down the neighborhood. He had luck. It was only an 5 minute walk to the bus station. So he took his time to walk slowly. This day it seams needed a bit more attention that others. He texted his best friend.
