To My Dearest Friends

I didn't know her well but every time we talked

she put a smile on my face

although she knew she would be mocked

I'm so lucky I was seated right beside your place

all my jokes are immature

and rarely very funny

I don't know how you endure

are you just in it for the money?

I rarely took the time

to tell you that I cared

so I'm telling you in rhyme

with this poem, I've prepared

I know that you don't see

how very beautiful you are

but I can guarantee

that you're as pretty as a star

If you ever need a friend

to help you with a problem

I will try to comprehend

but I still might use some sarcasm

I don't say it as often as other do

because it makes me feel quite vulnerable

but I hope you know, I love you

because with you I can feel comfortable

so if we ever brawl

I hope you read these words

and that they help you to recall

that our friendship will endure

She reminds me of myself

we look almost the same

but she has a bigger bookshelf

and I have a different last name

I've known her for quite a long time

we didn't talk 'til this year

now we're partners in crime

I know our friendship will persevere

We have different personalities

but I think that's why we're so close

we have similar mentalities

and we share each other's clothes

She can't comprehend her own beauty

it's like all her mirrors are broken

so I've made it my personal duty

to tell her until it is soaked in

My life is better because of her

I want to tell her first hand

I wrote this poem to reassure

that I love you more than you'll ever understand

I can't help but be infected

smiling isn't my style

but I'm always affected

Her laugh is like a drug

addictive and gone too soon

like to a lovely ladybug

and the bright and full moon

I don't know her very well

but from what I can gather

she really does excel

at filling a room with laughter

I hope she realizes

that even if I don't say it

regardless of any surprises

our friendship will never split

She is always kind and loving

and sometimes kinda funny

she's always looking stunning

and is as cute as a bunny
