Sitting in the corner booth of Burger Boy with my milkshake in my hand, my straw sitting loosely in my mouth I look around wondering how I got here. I'm sitting here beside my new boyfriend along with my four friends and his two.

Sara looks over at me noticing my zoned out expression and says she has to use the washroom, motioning me to follow.

"Yeah me too, I'll come with you."

Once we make it to the bathroom she puts her hands on my shoulders, looks me dead in the eye and,

"Girl what's going on?"

"I'm just amazed. Months ago I barely talked to you girls, and now I have a boyfriend and I'm here with him and your guys and his friends. I barely left my house. And I barely talked to anyone. Now I have this." I motioned around alluding to my current life.

"Well you deserve it. Now go enjoy it." She pushes me back out the bathroom and to the table.

Once we sit down, and I'm in the middle of taking a sip of my milkshake Christian makes a joke about Mitch's game last night and I laugh so hard I snort and choke on my shake. The laughter from around the table gets even louder than before if it was even possible.

"Wait what time is it?" Matthew asks in a rush.

Saf presses her home button, "6:30".

"We got to go!" The three boys yell rushing us five girls out of the booth.

"What's going on?" Katie asks.

"The movie!" Mitch says as if it was obvious.

"What movie?" I ask.

"You'll see." He winks at me. Sly.

We pull up to the theatre in two separate cars.

It was hard to pay attention to the movie with Mitch's hand on my leg. But it helped me reflect on how happy I was with my life and how I wouldn't change anything.
