I hear a scream come from downstairs. I pull of my headphones and leave my Mac unattended and grab my iPhone. I dash down the stairs. Only to see a iPad mini playing screaming sounds. I flip it over and pause the sound effects. A idea pops into my brain. " Luke!" I scream as I run up the steps. Not to my surprise there he is sitting on my bed.
" Why, hello. Nice to see you today. Did you get my message?" He asks. I stop and think for a moment.
I answer," Ya, thanks for the rude awaking. What do you want Luke?"
" It's dad and mom," he says as he fidgets with my headphone cord.
" Dad? We haven't seen him since 2 summer's ago. We only called and texted him," I say as I walk over to my desk chair and sit down. My brother looks down. Still fidgeting with the cord. Finally I break the silence and say," What do you know that I don't. Luke?"
" A lot of things."
" Luke!"
" We are leaving in a week. Flying out to see dad. In L.A. California. With his new family. And life," Luke says as I feel my heart quicken.
" Family?" I ask him as I lean back in my chair.
After awhile he answers," Ya, dad got married last summer and has 1 step kid, and another kid. We are only staying for summer though," he says as he fills me in.
I ask him one more question," How did you find this all out?"
" I over heard mom on the phone with dad. Than her and Jason where talking about it and now we departe at June 27, 6:15am. Arrive at 12:00pm. We also need to work at dad's bakery when we go there not even just hang out at the beach," he explains. I take a deep breath.
" Does mom know that you know?" I ask him.
" No," he tells me.
" Should we pack or wait for her to tell us that we are leaving?" I ask him knowing he will not care.
" You can pack it will take you long, I will wait," he says with a smirk on his face.
" Hey not all girls take long to pack," I defined girls and women.
" Ya, but you do," Luke protests.
" Bye, Luke," I say as I wave.
" Bye, I will leave you so you can start packing you should be ready by August 5 right?" He says as he stands up.
" Get out." I say as I push him out of my room and close the door. I go to my bed and lift up my Mac and sit it on my desk, I close Netflix and open messages. I click on my favourite ginger. And start to text, " Hey Chloe, what's up?" Within 2 minutes I get a replie, " Hey, Hannah, not much just binge watching Pretty Little Lairs, you?" I answer, " I was just binge watching, Riverdale. But Luke just said that we will be leaving in a week to see our father." With in seconds she answers, " No, but what about me, and your friends and family back home and Tyler. AND OUR PLANS!" I answer, " Calm down, Chlo, we can text and call and FaceTime and snap."
She answers, " Not the same, my mom needs me, ttyl." " Ttyl." I lay back in my chair and close my eyes and let my thoughts take over.
