Standing on a castle tower, looking at the bottom of a clift directly below and 1,000 feet away. It was the most beauty Clarissa had ever seen. Not only was it beautiful, but it apeared to her as freedom. Birds jumped from this very spot and flew away, if only she could too.
Clarissa was tall, thin, had red hair, and eyes that didn't match, one being blue, and the other green. She wore a beautiful white gown, and in it was stitched, with gold thred, flowers and leaves. Many stories below, people rushed about, preparing for her wedding. A wedding she didn't want, to a man she did not love. Ernest was a kind man, but she did not love him, and she knew he did not love her.
All her life, she had been taught to smile and wave, to be kind, and to never show what she truly felt, that maybe these actions would make up for her unsettled eyes. She had done so obediently, but it had harm as well. Now, because she had never spoken her deepest thoughts and fears, they overwellmed her.
Everyone below was so concerned with the wedding, they payed no atention to her. She was ready, and she had told them she was fine, so the maids had left to do other things.
Now, Clarissa stood, admiring the peace and quiet, how free she felt. She never wanted to let this go ever again. She whispered into the air, "I release you, Ernest." And she jumped, she spread her arms like wings, and she flew. Clarissa flew into the clouds, angels at her side, and full of joy.
Though her spirit flew, those in the grand ballroom looked up to see her fall, a smile of peace on her face, as she fell into the ocean. Her body never to be found, except by mermaides.
A few days later, they found a note on the pillow of her bed, telling of why she had jumped. Every on e was sad, esspecialy her parents, they had no idea how depressed their little Clarissa was. Though even in her moments of truth, she had not blamed a single soul. She had instead appologised for being strange and untruthful, for being a prison to Ernest, and for not being the daughter, sister, and princess they all deserved.
