I hear my name being yelled or thats what i think. As i hear the screams i open my eyes slowly. The rays of the bright sun shine through my window. The rays being so bright almost blinding me but i manage to still see, by squinting my eyes. "SHANIA?!?!" My mother yells at the top of her lungs. I ignore it and try to go back to sleep but her screechy voice calls out again. This time fowl language. "FOR FUCK'S SAKE....GET UP!!!" So much for being a little girl, huh? I moan and slowly get out of my bed. My mother, fuck is she ever annoying? Although everyone at my school thinks she is queen bee, and the neighbours...well they think she is miss perfect or mom of the year. Little do they know, that all of that sweetness is just an act. Truely no offense to my mother, but she is a major bitch. A blond haired, blue-eyed bitch, and that will never change. I do everything i normally do in the morning before heading downstairs walking around my house until i get to the kitchen. There both of them sit, at the table. My father in a suit and tie reading the morning paper and drinking coffee from his favorite mug. And my mother making him breakfast. To be honest we seem like a typical, ordinary family which is true in some cases but my parents are very high class. My father being a criminal lawyer, really isn't that special. Last year, for take your kid to work day i went with him and i was stuck in a court hearing all day long. The most boring day of my life, yet it was interesting. The criminal gave me a weird look when he was proven guilty of rape and first degree murder. My mother is a forensic scientist and usually spends her work days in a morgue. She finds identifying dead bodies fun and entertaining. But to me what my parents do is pretty gay and boring. My parents are always very busy with work, but they always somehow have time to care for me and keep me overly protected. Being locked up in my house only allowed to go to school and i am nit even trusted to do that by myself so my parents drive me everyday. "Good morning Shania" my father says not looking up from the article that he is reading. The headline read; MURDER ON THE LOOSE, in bold black letters. I dont reply to what he is saying i just stand over his shoulder reading the paper. "You seem interested, since you arent answering me" he says smiling and laughing a bit and i do the same continuing to read it. My father shortly after gets up and kisses my head saying "well i must be going to work now" and then going towards my mother kissing her whispering something in her ear which made her laugh and kiss him back. He then exits the kitchen and quickly walks towards the front door. I can tell he is in a hurry aand my mother looks like she is too. She sets down my breakfast in front of me and says my name softly. "I have to go to work today..." A quick pause of silence lurked around the room. "You're going to have to stay home alone today." My body was buzzing with excitment at this point.  The number one thing that i wanted to happen to me in years is finally happening today. Her worried voice continued to speak to me. "And if today goes well, my father and I will let you do as you wish as long as its safe, including going to school by yourself." I was finally becoming a normal kid. After years and years of waiting it's finally happening. She started giving me a speech of what and what not to do when being home alone, making me feel like a child. When she left, it felt good. Being able to finally start living my life; finally being able to be trusted with being home alone and all by myself.
