Chris' POV:
"I just couldn't do it Devin. I was so close to telling Ricky and I blew it." the older man squeezed my hand in his. Currently we were both sitting in our trailer. I skipped dinner with the crew because I couldn't stand looking at Ricky. I totally fucked up.
"Well what did you say?" he asked in his usual quiet voice.
I looked at him and sighed.
"I told him that his real last name was Olson not Motionless. How stupid am I?" I covered my face with my hands feeling Devins small hand rub my back soothingly.
"Hey, it's okay we all say dumb stuff. But Chris do you really think it matters if you tell Ricky or not? I mean, he might get upset but that won't change his view of you as his father. A father is a man who is there for their kid. Not like that asshole who abandoned him. He might even be thankful."
I listened to my friends words but it felt as if they went in one ear and came out the other. Don't get me wrong he has a point, but what if Ricky doesn't understand? What if he wants to leave the show? What....what if he hates me for lying to him for so long? I couldn't bear the thought of him hating me.
"But I do think you should let him know. It's not good to hold in a lie especially if it's eating you up enough to stress you out so much." Devin's hand rested on my shoulder and I nodded.
"You're right. You're right Dev I need to tell him. Even Manson and Ash think the same. That's it then I'm going to go find Ricky and tell him the truth. Thank you for talking with me Devin." with that I gave the smaller boy a hug before getting up and making my way outside the trailer.
I'm ready to come clean Ricky.
Ricky's POV:
"Hey Balz. What are you up to?" I poked my head through the curtain to the tent where Balz and my mom told fortunes and sold their oddities. Balz looked up at me with a welcoming smile and gestured for me to sit in front of him. I smiled and took a seat at the small rounded table that was covered in a deep purple velvet cover. In the center of the table was a beautiful crystal ball that had a purple haze floating inside of it.
"I was just testing out this crystal ball I got not too long ago. I usually use tarot cards to see into people's future but I decided to try something new. So I got this crystal ball that can see into the past and future." I nodded as I gazed at the ball and noticed it started flashing slightly. I furrowed my brow.
"Whoa, is it supposed to flash like that?" Balz touched the glowing ball with his tatted fingers and looked closely into it.
"Hmm it seems to be trying to look into either the past or future. Once it begins to show it it can not be stopped." he ran the tips of his fingers against the ball and a clear image was shown. My eyes widened in amazement.
"Oh wow! That's so cool!" I exclaimed.
"What's so cool?" I turned to see my mom walk in and she went to stand behind Balz giving him a kiss on top of his head.
"Balz is looking into my future. It looks like it's rainy." I spoke as I took a closer look. What I saw next shocked me. I saw..I saw a younger version of my dad. He was standing out in the rain standing by what looks an awful lot like Ryan's trailer.
"Uh Balz baby maybe you two should mess around with this some other time!" my mom spoke out sounding a little concerned. Balz reacted the same way. Concerned.
"I can't. The ball won't stop until Ricky's seen the entire thing." my mom gasped softly making me furrow my brows. I looked back down at the ball and saw my younger dad kneeling down beside a cardboard box. He then picked something out from inside it. My eyes widened a bit when I noticed it was a baby. What the...What the hell was a baby doing in a box in the middle of the road!?
The next scenario showed Chris speaking with a much younger Ash.
What is...
The scenarios then began to go by faster showing different times. I saw one of my dad and a younger Devin putting clothes on the same baby from the box. Then a scene where Chris and Ash were trying to teach the baby to walk. The last thing I saw was what made my heart sink. The night of my first performance.
The inside of the ball then faded into a misty purple, the flashbacks were gone. It was silent now. I didn't move, I didn't speak. Hell I didn't even look up. I just kept staring at the crystal ball sitting in front if me. That's when mom broke the silence.
"Ricky, honey now please don't be alarmed." she said in her soothing voice. But I didn't speak.
That abandoned baby...is me? So that means that Chris...
"He's not my real father?" I questioned looking up at the couple who just slowly gave each other a concerned look.
