Johnnie's POV:

"I hope Ricky is okay. Chris seems so devastated without him." the blue haired girl next to me sighed. At the moment we were walking through what looked like a park. There was a pond and a few statues here and there.  We've been searching for almost 40 minutes and Alex needed her water device filled so we both sat while I pulled out a water bottle from my bag. I nodded agreeing with Alex and looked up at the crescent moon.

"Yeah. I haven't known them that long but I could tell how much Chris cares for Rick." my eyes kept gazing over at the beautiful blue haired girl, my face a blushing mess. Ever since i joined the freak show I've had my eye on her. She was so sweet so funny and so beautiful. Sure she had razor sharp teeth and gills but I could look at them and it just makes her even more beautiful.

She looked over at me and smiled warmly making me smile back nervously.

"So..what's your story?" I asked sitting down on a bench right in front of the still water. She sat next to me and sighed looking at the shore.

"Well to be honest I don't remember much about my childhood. I only know that when I was 5 me and my parents went on a ride in our family boat and were swept away by a storm. After we landed on some island.  Well I did. I never saw my parents after that. So I stayed on that island for I don't know how long until one day I was playing in the water and saw somebody there. It was a fish person. They took me in to their family teaching me how to breath under water and eventually I adapted so well that I grew fins and gills. Over the years my teeth grew out into sharp fangs. After I turned 16 I finally went out on my own and found myself in the waters of Texas where Balz found me. And now here I am." she smiled at me.

I nodded and couldn't help but smile back at her. She's incredible. Alex nudged me in the arm with her hand catching my attention.

"So what about you? How did you get here?" she asked casually. I chuckled and rubbed the back of my neck.

"Uh well my mom kicked me out when i was 14 so I lived on the streets and that's when I met Kyle. He got kicked out for the same reason, for being different. So we fended for ourselves begging for food and living under bridges. And that's when we were found."

It was quiet for a moment. Crap Alex probably thinks I'm some loser. I peeked over at her and realized she was gasping loudly holding on to her chest.

Oh shit! I almost forgot!
I took the metal bottle and quickly filled Alex's breathing device until they were full.

. I put them back over her neck and she took a deep breath through her gills and let out a sigh.

"T-thanks Johnnie." her smile was so cute. Her sharp teeth just made her even more cute. I nodded and sat back next to her. What happened next shocked me.

She scooted closer to me laying her head on my shoulder. I just closed my eyes and let it happen. The comfortable silence between us was broken when we heard somebody walking up behind us.

"Well well. What do we have here. A couple of freaks in our turf." we both stood up turning to see a few guys bigger then us. The shortest one was standing between the others with his arms crossed over his chest.

"We're just looking for our friend. We don't want any trouble." I held my hands up calmly talking to the 4 guys. One of the guys that had a medusa piercing pulled out a switch blade flipping it out and held it up.

"There's already gonna be trouble because you're in our territory esè." he smirked. I stood in front of Alex trying not to seem scared. I had to be brave for her even though deep down I was scared. One of the guys that had a dermal piercing and tattoos going up his arms dropped his cigarette on the ground stomping on it.

"Vic let's get this over with si?" he spoke out. The other with spiky hair agreed chuckling. The short guy, Vic smirked and nodded.

"Get em guys." he nodded his head towards us and the others started approaching us. Me and Alex quickly backed away, my arm still blocking her. I may not have any freakish features or be super strong but I was going to protect this girl at all costs. The man with the medusa swung at me with the switchblade which I quickly dodged. My feet felt wet and i looked down realizing that we had stepped in the water.  I turned my head to Alex and nodded at the water speaking as low as I could.

"Jump in, I have a plan." Alex had some concern in her eyes but she nodded and did what I said. She stepped back in the water and jumped in making the guys rush over to me. Spikes grabbed my arm and twisted it holding it against my back. I let out a groan but kept my mouth shut. Vic smirked and snapped his fingers.

"Finish him Mike." he ordered. The guy with the medusa came up to me and held the cold blade against my neck. I just closed my eyes tightly biting on my lip hard. I hope this works.

"Alex! Shark attack!" I yelled out making the thugs in front of me look at me with confused looks. But before they could say anything I heard a splash and a single cry. My arm was free and that's when the guys noticed that spike was gone.

"Jaime!?" Vic called out. Nothing. Mike held out his blade to my face.

"Alright what did you do with Jaime?" he growled. I shrugged and snapped my fingers.

Splash.

The two in front of me gasped backing away when they noticed their other friend vanished.

"Alex. Bring the two out." I called out. After a few seconds the two thugs were tossed out of the water all tied up with some water plants and Alex leaped out after them. She flashed her razor sharp teeth at the men who backed away.

"Take your buds back. I'm not a big fan on Mexican food." Alex smirked. The thugs quickly gathered their friends and disappeared as quickly as they appeared. I turned to face Alex and smiled at her.

"We make a pretty good team huh?"  i chuckled nervously. The blue haired beauty giggled softly and stepped closer to me.

"We do. Thanks for being such a good guy." fuck it. With that I leaned forward and pressed my lips against hers. I was so surprised when I felt her kiss back. The kiss only lasted a few seconds but it was enough to make my heart sore. I looked down into her bright eyes her smile never leaving her face.

"Alex, I know you're a freak like me. But I like you. And I want to be freaks together." I confessed. Alex giggle and that's when I realized what I said sounded wrong. But Alex didnt say anything about it and put her arms around my neck hugging me.

"You're a sweet guy. I like you too Johnnie." she spoke near my ear making my spin tingle. I hugged her back.

"Well, we should keep looking for Ricky. We'll talk after." she kissed my cheek before pulling away. When she began to walk away I let out a loud sigh and fist bumped the air.

Yes! She likes me too!! I'm so excited for what the future held for us.
