Chapter 2

SHAWN POV

After my date with Angel, I finally head home after I dropped her off at her house. I felt bad for not taking Mercy home today, but I couldn't resist Angel, she was just so beautiful. After 5 minutes of driving I finally arrived home. I noticed that there wasn't any lights on inside. "Weird, why would Mercy not have a light on inside?" I questioned unlocking the door and walking in. I decided to ignore it and go and explain everything to Mercy. I walk up the stairs and see Mercy's door shut. "She never shuts her door, weird," I thought. "Mercy?" I asked opening her door. I noticed that she had been crying, I could see her tear stained face when I walked up to her.

"Mercy?" I said again. She slightly started to open her eyes. "What Shawn?" She asked irratated. "I wanted to say I was sorry," I began, "for forcing you to walk home," I finish. Mercy starts to sit up. "It's ok Shawn, you need to find someone in your life," I nod in agreement with her but I still feel sorry and guilty for making her have to walk home by herself.

MERCY POV

I hugged Shawn and told him it was okay and that I needed the exercise anyway. I just didn't want to tell him what happened in the woods though. I knew he would freak and he would become the overprotective brother he is, since our mom is barely here anymore. It was just me and Shawn againist the world together. I went to get up to go to the bathroom when Shawn grabbed my arm and I winced in pain. I grabbed my arm in pain. He immediately let go and looked up at me and back down to my arm. "What... did I hurt you?" He asked with concern, sorrow, and hurt in his eyes. "No... you didn't," I said running my hand up and down my arm. "Then who did this to you?" He asked filled full of anger. "Don't worry about it Shawn," I say trying to calm him down and reasure him everything is ok. "No, tell me who did this to you," he asked again but with more demand in his voice.

"Ok..." I began but before I completely began I sat down next to him and put my hands in his. I then looked up at Shawn and tried my hardest not to break down and cry. "What was he going to do when I tell him the truth? I want him to carry on with his life and not worry to much about me. What if h- "

"Mercy..." Shawn said snapping me out of my thoughts. "Please tell me who did this to you," he said with concern in his eyes.

"After school was over... I began to walk home, I knew it would take about 20 to 30 minutes to walk home, but if I took the woods it would cut half the time to get home..." Shawn nodded for me to continue. "You remember me always telling you that I always felt someone following me or stalking me, I should say," he nodded telling me he remembered me always telling him someone was but he never believed me though. "Well, I was walking in the woods when I felt someone following me," Shawn began to tense up but I ignored it though.

"Then I heard a twig being snapped and thats when I knew I wasn't alone, I then felt strong arms grab me and I couldn't get loose, and he said that he has been watching me, he also told me a witch told him that I-I was h-his soul-soulmate," I finished with tears running down my face.

SHAWN POV

I was in complete shock. The guilt and sorryness I felt was far beyond that now. I felt something that couldn't be explained to anyone. I gave Mercy a huge hug. "Mercy, I am sorry that I wasn't there for you, but I will never ever let anything or anyone hurt you," I say and kiss the top of her head as a single tear slips from my eye. "You promise?" She asks and I was even more hurt that I wasn't there for her. "Promise," I hugged her even tighter. "Mercy?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you," I say and I lay back in the bed with her in my arms and began to slightly fall asleep. This didn't feel weird at all just a brother and sister thing. I began to fall asleep with Mercy in my arms. "Goodnight Mercy," I say. "Goodnight Shawn," she says and with that I fall asleep.
