Hazel was sitting in a wheelchair in her hospital room. Her parents were gathering everything up and getting ready to leave. Hazel has been in the hospital for a little over a week, and she was ready to get home. "Do you want me to push you out?" her mom asked. "No, I got it", Hazel said. Hazel didn't want any help because it would make her feel useless. They went out of the hospital room, and on the way out to the parking lot. Hazel's arms were starting to get tired from pushing herself in the wheelchair. She wasn't used to it.
The sun was shining outside, and she pushed herself all the way to the truck. She loved their truck. It was a Blue Ford 4-door. She wondered, how am I going to get up in the truck? Her dad said, "Here, I can pick you up in the truck". Her dad picked her up and put her in the back seat. She buckled up while they folded up her wheelchair to put in the back.
It was about three hours until they got home. Hazel looked out the window watching horses graze. Later, she fell asleep. They arrived at their house about 3pm. Hazel looked at the barn with horses sticking their heads over the stalls.
She was home.
