10: The Reason

Third Person's POV

10 minutes had passed but Yeri is still looking at her laptop. 8 hours already passed when Yeri slept but there was still no reply from Jaehyun.

Maybe Jaehyun was already asleep at that time when Joy sent it? She was paranoid thinking about a hundred possibilities of why he didn't replied.

Maybe he really ignored her? Or he's probably seeing somebody already? Maybe he didn't opened his account? Or he possibly had fallen asleep before he can even open his messages?

What are the possibilities that the positive reasons might be true? While she was solving it, she learned that the possibility of having the positive reason is lower compared to the negative reason.

She sighed and stood up. "I have to go to work. Its my first day today and I can't miss it or be late" She grabbed her laptop and was about to close it when she saw the seen icon on her- specifically Joy's- message. She threw her laptop on her bed and she squealed when she knew that Jaehyun was online.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FAAAAK!!! WHAT WILL HE REPLY?!?!?! WHAT WILL HE THINK OF ME?!?!?!?! THAT STUPID JOY!! I'M REALLY GOING TO CHOKE HER AND STAB HER IN THE CHE-"

Ding~!

She stopped her rants and looked at her laptop. She didn't know that a simple notification can make her heart pump fast. She walked and took her laptop. She was smiling like an idiot when she knew that it was Jaehyun who replied to her. But she didn't looked at it. She covered Jaehyun's reply. "It's now or never" She quoted before she took a peek at Jaehyun's reply.

Jaehyun: Hi. If you don't mind, I'm kinda busy at the moment. Please message me some other time

Her smile slowly turned upside down when she read it. Its like her energetic self suddenly died. She smiled fakely, trying to pretend that it everything was okay.

His message was bland, boring and dull. He didn't even  included his enthusiasm unlike before.

He changed.

The time they parted ways, he acted weird. Even though that Yeri doesn't have the energy to reply, she still gave her response. Like what Jaehyun replied to her, it was bland, boring and dull. But she told him the truth, with a lie.

Yeri: I wasn't the one who replied anyway. I don't even miss you... Sorry for wasting your time :)

Yeri's POV

"Here's your order, ma'am" I tried to sound cheerful but it probably just sounded fake. It was already intentionally fake because I wasn't in my good mood anyway. Even though that this is my first day at work, I still acted like a spoiled brat who was pressured to work.

I'm wearing our working outfit and it's kinda cute. It's purple and kinda girly. Just like what I like. I have this nametag that looks like its made out of gold. It showed my name Yeri in it. It was sort of royalish..

"Hey, hey! Where's the sweet smile, pumpkin?" Yuta poked my face several times but I just slapped his hands away. I hope he noticed that I was annoyed, like REALLY annoyed by his actions.
