AU-So This is my first fanfiction so don't be too hard on me. This is the first chapter. Pretty much explaining where our two hero cops are right now. I hope you enjoy it.
*ONE YEAR AFTER MOVIE*
Nick Wilde had never thought his life could change so much. Just one year ago he was selling pawpcicles on the street corner. And today he was an officer for the ZPD. Of course Nick had to go through a hell of a lot of training and work to get his name clean and graduate the academy. But in the end. When he saw how happy the little bunny who changed his life was he figured it was all worth it.
Judy Hopps was a big part in Nicks life now. She was his partner on the force and best friend. They spent everyday together not just because they had to but because they wanted to. Judy had meant the world to Nick. She was the only one who had ever seen Nick for who he truly was. Not a shifty, fox who didn't deserve trust. She saw him as a caring mammal with feeling just like everyone else.
Of course many didn't take kindly to having a fox on the force, but Nick, Judy, and chief Bogo didn't care. Nick was an amazing cop. He did what he had to do on the force. Even if that meant arresting someone who was important in his life. The day Nick had to arrest his best friend, Finnick, was a hard day. Finnick didn't like being arrested. Especially by his best friend. The small fox was calling Nick every name in the book. But when Finnick was free again he realized that Nick had done him a favor. Finnick could start over. And that's just what he did. About 2 months ago Finnick opened up a paint shop/auto shop.
Finnick tried to thank Nick for helping him out but Nick refused. He said that Judy was the whole reason for it. Had she not came into his life the two of them would still be hustling mammals out of money.
Nick hadn't met Judy's parents yet. Of course they had heard about the fox from Judy. In fact he was all she talked about to her parents. And if it was Judy talking about him you could bet they were all good things. Judy was amazing like that. She took his darkest days and found the light switch. She was his 'cute' little angel. So it's not really that crazy the believe that Nick was in love with her.
At first he didn't want to believe it. He was a fox. She was a bunny. How would it work? What would others think?
But sense when did he care about what others thought?
'Don't let anyone see that they get to you'
That was Nicks philosophy. He didn't care what people thought about HIM. But he didn't want to ruin Judy's life because of his fantasies. That was the only reason he didn't tell her. He didn't want to hurt her. He didn't want to scare her. He didn't want to love her. But he did. And there was nothing he could do except for ignore it.
