I had never been to this part of town before, but as we drove on the space between houses became greater and greater. Before I knew it, I was staring out at pure green meadows that lead on into to horizon. Dawson's radio was on super low, but I could make out the melody of Sam Hunt's House Party. I started humming along without even knowing it.

"You like country music?"

"Sam Hunt isn't all that country," I responded still staring out the open window. It was a beautiful day. The sun was so bright and there were only a few clouds in the sky.

"Well, you've been humming along to every song that's come on, and they've all been country."

I guess I had been humming for longer than I thought, "So I like country? What's the big deal?" I finally broke away from the scenery and looked at the side of Dawson's face as he focused on the road.

"No biggy," he smirked, "I just like a girl who knows music."

"What's music?" I said sarcastically while rolling my eyes.

Dawson laughed, "I like you Savannah."

"Yea? So does my mom. And my dad. And my best friend. Oh! And my dog!"

"Alright," he chuckled, "you know what I mean."

"I'm afraid I don't."

"I wanna take you out on a date."

"Then what are we doing right now?" I looked at him. He took his eyes off the road to glance at me quickly. He was wearing his usual stupid smirk that as much as I tried I couldn't help but smile back at.

"Why we're just killing time."

"Looks like we're here!"

I looked around eagerly as we pulled up to a lake with a small little dock surrounded by an open field and flowers all over the place as well as low hanging trees.

"And what exactly are we doing here Dawson?"

"Swimming! What else silly?" He parked the car, got out, and retrieved a towel from the back of his truck.

"I don't have a suit, nice try."

"You don't need one," he grinned as he took off his shirt revealing his incredibly toned body.

"What are you doing.."

"Relax, I'm wearing underwear," he kept on grinning at me as he started to slip off his pants.

As a natural reaction I looked away, and by the time I looked back Dawson was jumping off the deck into the water.

"Come on!" he said laughing and slicking his hair back.

I was hesitant, but I ultimately gave in and stripped out of my outfit. I walked over to the edge of the deck and looked down into the water.

"Is it safe?"

"Of course! Why else would I willingly jump in?"

"You seem to be a crazy man so I wasn't too sure."

"Sav you can trust me, now come in before I come get you," he splashed me with some water. What a rookie mistake.

"That settles it!" I jumped in super close to Dawson in hopes that the splash I made would drench him (even though he was already wet).

"So uncalled for.. get over here!"

He started swimming over to me and fast. I tried my best to get away but he got to me and grabbed my waist to turn my body towards him. Our faces were only a few inches away from each other and I instantly got super nervous. I thought he was going to kiss me, but as I closed my eyes, he splashed me again.

"Oh my gosh! Dawson!" I yelled. I wasn't even mad. In fact, I was laughing. I was having fun.

"Come get me!" he swam away towards the deck and got out before I could reach him.

"Ok.. ok. I give up. Now help me out," I stated in defeated. He laughed and reached his down for me to grab, but instead of getting out I pulled him in with all my might and he plunged into the water. While he was shocked and trying to grasp what had just happened, I rushed out of the water and hid behind one of the trees surrounding the water.

"You're dead Sav! Where are you?!"

I was yelling but I could tell he was trying not to laugh. I was trying my hardest too, in order not to give up my location.

"Sav?"

He sounded like he was far away so I moved to see where he was.

"Gotcha!" He jumped out and pinned me up against the tree.

We were laughing so hard, I swear I was struggling to find time to breathe. As we caught our breath and our laughter died down, I realized his body was up against mine. His skin was warm even though it had previously been wet. I was staring at his chest and my eyes eventually gazed all the way up to his eyes. By the time our eyes met, I realized he had been staring at me too. I started to breathe heavier and my heartbeat sped up.

"We should get going, huh?" Dawson said breaking the silence.

I couldn't find the strength to utter a word so I simply, timidly, nodded my head like a little girl agreeing to something she obviously didn't want to do.

We walked back to his truck and he tossed me the towel so I could wrap myself in it. He threw on his cargo shorts and opened up the passenger door for me. I got in and waited for him to start the truck so we could leave.

Dawson brought me back to school so I could get my car and go home.

"Well, that was fun," he plainly said.

"Yea.." I said looking down at my hands.

"I'll see you around?"

"Oh! Yea! Sure," I said unwrapping myself from the towel. "I'll see you around," I grabbed my dress and got out of his truck. Before I got into my car I slipped on my dress and glanced back at Dawson. He looked.. disappointed? He was looking down at his lap and had almost a hurt expression on his face. He looked up at me and caught me staring. I quickly looked away and got into my car. I took one last glance before I started to drive away, but he was already gone.
