I quickly glanced over at my watch before placing the back of my hand on my forehead and wiping the sweat off.
I was hoping, praying my shift would end soon just in time for Justin's birthday party which I had promised him I would attend earlier to help him decorate the house but by the looks of it, I was probably going to be stuck here all night.
I quickly wiped off my last table before dropping the wet towel into a soapy bucket of water. I instantly allowed a sigh to escape my lips as I carried it into the cleaning room.
"Uh Y/N, when you're done I need you to lock the register for me." My manager, Patricia said
I slowly nodded my head while pouring the soapy water into our sink.
"And Y/N. I also need you to mop the floor for me. Nayasha went home this morning and she hasn't returned since."
I glanced over at her before placing the bucket down in a corner and washing my hands.
"I'm sorry Patricia but wasn't Nelson suppose to take care of the register?" I asked a bit upset.
She knew I had requested this day off but still insisted on me coming in because they were "short" on staff. I repeatedly told her over the phone that I didn't want to miss Justin's birthday bash today but she ignored me and told me to arrive by ten.
"Nelson is in charge of something else. Listen Y/N, I know you're upset and all but I'm sure Justin will understand."
I shook my head at her words. Of course, Justin would understand. Not only was he my best friend but he was the most loving, caring person on this planet and I hated disappointing him.
"But I told you Patricia I couldn't work today and you still called me in."
She slowly shook her head while letting a sigh escape her lips. She stared at me for a moment before opening the door of the cleaning room.
"Okay Y/N. You can go. I know how important this is to you." She said
I stared at her for a spilt second trying to figure out if she was joking or not.
"Are you serious? You're letting me go?" I asked
A smile immediately appeared on my face as I tried to hold back the excitement I was feeling.
"Yeah. I'll just tell Nelson and Michael, you had somewhere important to be and I need them to take care of some things."
I quickly took off my robe and hung it up before running towards her and giving her a tight hug.
"Oh my goodness, Patricia. Thank you so much." I said
She instantly wrapped her arms around me before slightly pushing me away and smiling.
"Go and make sure you tell Justin I said happy birthday."
I nodded my head and opened the door of the restaurant before walking towards my car and hopping in.
I quickly grabbed my phone and dialed Justin's number letting him know I would be there in an hour.

As I stepped out of the steamy bathroom, I wrapped the blue towel around my wet body. I immediately glanced at the time and shook my head at how late I was.
I instantly opened my closet door and pulled out the outfit I had placed in the back for Justin's birthday party. I couldn't help but admire how beautiful it truly was. I raised it up in the air and bit my lips imagining how good this outfit would look on me while still remaining modest. The excitement I had inside of me continued to build up as I let a small squeal escape my lips.
