People always say that you know death will come, they didn't. This is the story of a school, and the end of humanity. This is the point of no return, when you go past this point you are one of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up on a simple Friday morning. It was just another day and I went through my morning routine. I brushed my teeth, took a shower, and ate breakfast. I had a bowl of dry Captin Crunch. Then I went to school. On my way I see Iris crying on the side of the road. I pick her up and asked her what is wrong.
"The end is near" she said.
Her dad is a government official in the branch that monitors things to see how much time is left for us on Earth.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"The night in which we will go into tonight. It will be our last night."
I almost passed out when I heard the news. When we first became friends and knew who we were we made a pact to never joke about the end. The end is really here? It can't be, right? We were merely two young souls at the age of 13 and we are going to die? Really? I have had a crush in her since we were in fourth grade, will I ever get a chance to tell her? Will I ever be able to give her some gifts on Valentines and say I love you? No. It's over. We will all be dead and nothing will matter because we will never be anything anymore. This is my freaking last night.
"This better not be a joke." I say
"I'm afraid it isn't" she says sadly.
"Hop in, now." I say, and we sped away.
