Chapter 1: Leaving the Ship for the Doolittle Raid.
There me and my crew sat, on the deck of the carrier yorkstown, we were waiting to get near our target to take off, my crew consists of me, my co-pilot, my navigator, and my five gunners, we were all very close freinds most of us were playmates as young kids, let me Introduce my crew: David (me) as pilot of the b-25, Bill as co-pilot, John as navigator and my five gunners: Matt , Earl , Cyrus , jack and last but not least Dean, as we sat playing cards talking about the scariest events that ever happened to us in our lifetime, we heard a big bang. I jolted up and looked over to my right to the great wide blue, were i saw a small vessel in flames, it looked like a fishing boat. "what the....." i whispered "DAVID!" my friend walter ran up to me. "We have to leave NOW!.... Dolittle said we cant stay." he said as he began to sweat "WHAT!?!?!?... we dont have enought fuel at all!" i said angry now "wait why are we leaving anyways so early" "Japanese fishing vessel" "great.." i said Sarcastically "they are taking the guns off our aircraft and putting in brooms painted black with holes in them to look like guns" he said pale white now "great no defenses... get to your aircraft walter"
As we loaded up our gear one of my gunners came up to me "yes Matt what is it" "we are heading for China after the bombing..... do you think we will make it?!?" "Nope there is not enought fuel to get there we may have to bail out of her" i turned and saw her name in words on the nose "The Old Crow" and then i saw the crow under the writing. All of us enter the aircraft nervous as you could ever be......... so me and Bill get ready to start engines as we do i hear the crew of the ship talk to each other near my window saying "No way in earth are they going to make it!" then we hear the scream of the engine starting and see the smoke fall behind us. then Doolittle take off. then the rest of us went off the carrier.
