The sky was dark as the sun had set hours ago. Within the endless sky, there shined millions of stars. Though they twinkled in an odd manner. As if something great was soon to happen.

"Ahhh!!"

A scream pierced the once calm air.

A group of shadowed figures ran through a dark forest, chasing two figures. The two appeared to be a tall male figure and a child.

"Stop right there!!" the crowd ordered.

The two figures that were running away from the crowd, stopped as they came to a dead end.

A cliff.

The child clung onto the older male, as he looked towards the cliff. The crowd that was chasing them also came to a halt.

Every single one of the group was glaring at the two.

"Hand over the brat," the leader of the group demanded.

The older male looked down onto the child. More specifically, a little girl barely three. She gripped the man's clothing tightly in fear.

The little girl wore a ragged dress and no shoes. As she shook in fear, the metal chains attached to the shackles around her wrists and ankles could be heard.

She was a slave.

The older male picked the girl up as she whimpered in fear.

She looked at the man, fear coursing all throughout her body. The man looked at the little girl with sadness and hope.

"Good luck," the man spoke before tossing her off the cliff.

Time seemed to have moved slower, as everything happened at once.

As soon as she was thrown into the air the group of men rushed after the man who had protected her.

Red. It was all that she could see.

The man he...

One of the men that were after her, threw a sharp knife at her.

Although it missed her, it grazed her side. It wasn't deep enough to cause a major problem, however, it wasn't shallow.

She then proceeded to plummet towards the water.

As she fell she saw a small raft anchored to the side of the cliff.

SPLASH

She remained still in the water, processing the pain she felt.

Quickly as possible, she tried to swim up to the surface as she was running out of breath.

Breathing the fresh air, she looked around.

Once spotting the raft she swam towards it.

However, there were three problems. First, was obvious, the men on top of the cliff were throwing dangerous objects at her. The second problem was that she doesn't know how to swim. With that in mind, she was struggling to get to the raft. The third and final problem was that she was losing blood, due to the slash that she received.

After struggling to reach the raft, she was successful.

Regaining her breath, she examined the raft. It was small. Big enough for one tiny child.

On the raft was a bag tied to a wooden pole that was attached to the raft.

Not looking at what was inside the bag, she immediately detached the rope that was tied to the cliff as soon as she heard the voices of the men.
