Chapter 3

Pearl's POV

As Connie left, the rest of us walked back to the Temple I noticed Garnet was silent throughout the meeting of Amelia. "I liked Amelia she was really polite" I started. Steven looked up at me with stars in his eyes.
"No Steven, she can't be a swordswoman" Garnet explained. (A/N: yes it's a real thing I had to look it up cause of pronouns. Don't want to offend anyone of using wrong pronouns) "She's different than us. Wants change. I like her but don't fully trust her yet."
"Oh come on Garnet lighten up a little bit" Amethyst replied. Garnet kept a blank expression.
"I'm going out." With that Garnet left I looked at Steven and Amethyst and we all shrugged not knowing what got into her.

Garnet's POV:
She's here, why now though? I need answers from her. I kept walking until I got to her apartment. I knocked. The door opened slowly. "Yes?" Amelia's soft voice spoke.
"I want to talk" I replied.
"Oh Garnet. Come in. Are the others..."
"It's just me." She looked down.
"Oh. What can I do for you?" She asked. I can see why Pearl likes her. She is polite.
"Why now. After all these years, why are you back" I asked. She looked at me confused.
" I don't know wha..." she began to say before I interrupted.
"We both know that your lying to yourself. So please why now?" She sighed. And motioned me to sit so I didn't.
"My mother explored what this place had to offer. My mother remembered a pact that Rose and her promised to do. Fall in love with a human and give up their form to have a kid" she began to explain. "When my mom had me here, she knew it would attract others. So my father and I moved right after I was born and my mother was gone, until he died 2 years ago, after that; learned to fight, to strategize, to survive on Earth. I then came here, make a new start and check up on you guys as well. I was thinking maybe if I could fix my mothers mistakes then I would easily do it in a heartbeat."
"That's why we couldn't find the gem. It's part of you" she lifted up her bottom part of her shirt to expose a,Pink Diamond.
"I do have her memories though if that partially helps." I smiled. She's honest and she did come back to check up on us. I headed for the door. As I reached my hand for the doorknob I heard a voice. "And Garnet, please don't tell Steven that I'm Pink Diamond."
"I wasn't. I've seen what you are planning to do. And might I say it's pretty risky on your part." And with that I opened the door and left.
