Charlotte's POV
The crowd presses in around me, and I move closer to my Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon. Aunt Petunia puts her arm around my shoulders, "It's okay we'll get in soon."
I'm visiting my Aunt and Uncle in Little Rock. They decided to bring me to WinterJam. We're pretty close to the front of the line. To my luck For King and Country is headlining this year.
A few moments later, the doors are opened. Uncle Vernon hands thirty dollars to the security guard at the door, and we're let inside. I run as close to the stage as we're allowed without JamNation, and sit down.
"I'm so pumped." I exclaimed, pumping my fist in the air. The pre-jam party starts and Anthem Lights takes the stage. The late stragglers come in between Jordan Feliz, the other pre-show artist, and Trip Lee.
Once there's a break, Uncle Vernon gives me money to buy some merch. Quickly thanking him, I scamper off. I run to where all the tables are. The first one I see is the Colton Dixon one. I stop, looking at the various accessories there are. I walk away from his table without buying anything.
The next one is Family Force 5 table. I admire their display and move onto Matthew West. I buy a necklace here that says 'Grace Wins Every Time.' I stop at every other table just browsing, until the For King and Country one. After careful consideration I decide on two shirts. The gray 'I got this' one, and the gray 'It's Not Over Yet' shirt are the ones I choose. I pay the girl for them and get back to my seat just in time for some Newsong. I sing along and worship during their songs and I truly do presence of God. The same feeling spreads through me during Tony Nolan's sermon.
After the sermon, Francesca Battistelli takes the stage followed by the Newsboys. During the last break of the night, I decide to use the rest of my money on an Anthem Lights CD.
Once the show starts again we get a Third Day concert experience. I sing along to all their songs. I'm a huge Third Day fan. They close their set with 'God of Wonders', and then again, I feel God's presence so strongly.
Finally it's the moment I've been waiting for. It's time for For King and Country. The legendary white curtain is set up, and I almost squeal. I haven't seen the these guys since the house show. At my own house, Backus hit me with a door. That seems to happen each time we see each other. Tonight I've been on the lookout for doors flying toward me.
I stand up and begin clapping. The intro to Run Wild just started. It's an amazing feeling to hear them sing again.
"Hello WinterJam, how are you all feeling?" Joel asks after the first song. The crowd responds with clapping and cheering.
"Before we do another song , I think we should introduce ourselves," Luke suggests.
Joel smiles, "Good idea, mate! I'm Joel, and that's my little brother Luke.
Luke nods before adding,"We're from Australia, the land down under. Hopefully you can still tell; America has really messed up our accents." The crowd let's out a chuckle.
"First, right here, is our multi-instrumentalist, Ben Backus everybody!" Joel exclaims, gesturing towards Ben. Ben smiles at the audience and waves. For a split second, I think he spots me, because he sends a small wave in my direction.
"Now over here is the extremely talented, Mr. Stephen Lynch!" Luke calls, from his place by Stephen. Stephen raises his hands to the cheering crowd.
"Now, mates, here's a bloke who knows how to drum. Ladies and Gentlemen, Timmy AKA the Duke!" Joel announces. Timmy bangs out a small drum solo.
"Another multi-instrumentalist, Blake Kanicka, folks," Luke says, into his microphone. Blake looks at the audience with the biggest grin on his face.
"We have this handsome, young bloke. This is Mark Campbell."Joel informs the audience. Mark played a quick chord on his guitar, smiling widely at the audience.
"And last, but certainly not least, Vince DiCarlo, another multi-instrumentalist!" Luke told the audience, "Now who's ready to Fix their eyes?" The crowd goes wild as they start to play the prelude.
I jump and start singing along. Throughout the whole show, I sing along. During, Middle of Your Heart, Joel walks past me, and gives me a huge smile.
While he gives his Priceless Speech, I clutch my penny necklace. The speech has always been my favorite part.
I listen as Joel tells me that I'm worth more than all the money, diamonds, and pearls. I'm so thankful this movement. Joel walks through the crowd toward me. He pulls off his Respect and Honor bracelet. "Charlotte, my dear, I want you to have this," I take it from his hand, my eyes wet with tears. I mouth him a thank you, he nods and begins singing Priceless.
After the show I go to check out the merch tables once more. For some reason, I feel like I'm being followed. I begin running, where to, I'm not exactly sure, but I'm running. Before I realize where I'm headed, I find myself with the tour buses. Somehow I dodged security.
I walk to the nearest bus, climb up the steps, and sit down. Whoever was following me must not have made it through security with the same luck I did.
The door to the bus opens slightly, bumping me in the back of the head. I turn to see Ben. "Charlotte, what are you doing here?" He asks taking a seat next to me. "I'm staying with my Aunt and Uncle. They thought it would be a nice surprise to bring me here. I was looking at merch and it felt like I was being followed. I took off running, somehow passed the security guards and be I'm here," I explain quickly.
"It's going to be okay, kiddo. Come on into the bus and we'll get you're aunt and uncle back here," he holds open the bus door for me. I see the guys all sitting, obviously tired, on their phones or computers. They all look up. "Charlotte, love, what're are you doing here? Ben didn't knock you out again did he?" Joel asks. I shake my head, "Nah, he just tapped me with it. Ben'll explain everything else, I just need to sit down for a minute."
Luke moves over to make room for me. He's face timing his family. I can hear Ben repeating what I just told him. I reach for my phone, and call my Aunt. "Hey, sweetie, where are you? Your uncle and I were worried sick!" I sigh, "Listen, Aunt Petunia, go to a security guard and tell them you need to get to the tour buses. If they have any doubts or questions, have them call Ben Backus, okay?" She agrees, but sounds unsure.
"Did anybody hurt you, girlie?" Blake asks. "No. I just know somebody was following me, I'm okay though. My Aunt and Uncle are on their way back here," I inform them.
We all chat for a bit. I tell them how my mom and I recently moved to Franklin. "No way! That's where Joel live!" Mark exclaims. "Maybe we'll see you around, " Stephen smiles. I nod, "Maybe."
