Jamie's mother came back inside when she was done with her smoke. "I'm sorry, guys. This is the wrong time to lose my temp--"
Katherine entered the living room where Billie Joe was sitting with Jamie to find that they were both gone. "Jamie?" her mother called. "Billie? Shit!" She ran into Jamie's room to find that all of her clothes and posters were gone, and so was her suitcase.
Her mother melted to the floor, crying. She yanked at her hair, screaming and kicking for her daughter to come back. Jamie did not come back, nor would she ever.
Katherine had her head cradled in her arms, when suddenly she heard something. She picked her head up, and looked around. On the nightstand by Jamie's bed, was a tiny MP3 player, as to which was playing "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" on repeat.
Katherine crawled over to the device and looked at it for a few minutes.
"It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right. I hope you have the time of your life."
