Slenderman
A walk through the forest. That's doesn't sound too bad right? Yeah, it sounds horrible. Walking through the great outdoors, taking in all of the fresh air. Who wouldn't enjoy that?
You. You wouldn't. You absolutely hate going outside, or anything that involved physical activity to be exact. And why do you hate it? Because you hate going outside in general, you knew that the minute you stepped outside you'd be exposed to the harsh rays of the sun and the icky bugs that crawled on the ground. You groaned as you kicked a rock into some bushes.
"Come on (Y/N), stop being a whiny baby," Alex groaned, clearly tired of your attitude during the whole hike. "It's not that bad, besides you already put on sunblock and bug repellent. Stop complaining and enjoy the walk,"
"No. Let me be an introvert in peace," you grumbled. "Stupid hike, stupid plants-" you slapped your arm, crushing a mosquito that tried to steal your blood. "Stupid bugs-"
"Alright! That's it! I'm tired of hearing you complain every second!" Alex began to walk away from you. "Go home! But I'm going to go to the top of this hill,"
"Hill?! This is a freaking mountain!" You shouted back and kicked a rock in their direction. They were long gone by now leaving you to think of your actions. "Stupid hike!"
You kicked a tree, effectively shaking it a bit causing leaves to fall from its branches. You picked up a rock and threw it across the trail. You continued to harass the trail until you managed to calm yourself down. Taking deep breaths you suddenly began to feel bad about complaining to your friend about a hike they were so excited to take you on.
"I should go apologize," you mumbled. Guilt was eating away at you, something that happened often due to your stubborn behavior. Adjusting the backpack on your back you began to walk towards the direction of where you last saw her go.
The trail seemed nice, something you didn't notice earlier due to your stubborn attitude. Now you felt bad for kicking the trees and throwing rocks everywhere. Now, where did your friend go? They said something about the top of the hill, so that's where you'll go. The only problem is, the trail breaks off into two paths. One seemed to lead downwards and the other one seemed to lead up, which is where you plan to go so that way it is.
It's been twenty minutes and the top is nowhere in sight, in fact it felt that you were heading down instead of up. You where lost, and you didn't have a map. Wait, you had your phone! Good thing you never leave anywhere without it. Fishing out your phone you turned it on only to be crushed when you saw that there was no signal here.
"I'm going to die," you gasped. Immediately you turned around planning to retrace your steps to at least go back to the split in the road so you could get back the hike's entrance. "The path... It's gone?"
The once dirt path turned to a grass infested one, all signs of it being used gone. Your heart was hammering in your chest, blood was rushing through your ears so fast to the point where you could hear your own heartbeat. Your breathing was becoming shallow, you felt suffocated. Nothing looked familiar, everything seemed to move and shift. Turning around you make a break for the direction you thought was right. Slowly the path begins to clutter around you, the trees seem to get closer to you and the thick grass seems to try to trip you. You trip, your phone falling out of grasp and onto the ground in front of you.
The screen showed that there was one signal bar on it when it had previously shown none. You must be getting close to the exit of this damned place. Picking it up you begin running in the direction of wherever the signal grew.
