My name is Gabriel Reyes and this is the story of how I freed myself and many others from the iron fist of the capital. Let's start here...

I lifted my hand above my head to shield my eyes from the blazing sun. It had been five years since I lost my best friend, Jack Morrison, to the capital's tierney.

I was twelve years old when I lost him. We were searching through the neighbor's trash for spare parts. We weren't the richest of people and our parents were murdered eight years ago when they rose up against our dictators. At this point in time no one ever minded us, they had known our families and they knew that we were harmless. The local officials in our sector were much more merciful than the others, but one day, something happened and it changed our lives forever.

"Hey kids!" The grouchy old man from down the street called out to us, "Get out of here!" He nagged as he tried to shoo us away. We turned and stuck out our tongues at him. We were foolish and young. We didn't realize the meaning behind his trembling hands, quivering voice and fear filled eyes. We continued to rummage through the trash. He ran up to us and tried to lead us away, he tried to lead us to safety. We refused. Suddenly screams rang out. We watched as a government official dragged a blonde woman and her daughter out on to the street. The local doctor, her husband, crawled after them. Blood spilled from a wound on his stomach.

"No! Please!" The woman screeched, "Please spare my daughter."

The official's mouth twisted into a wicked smile as he muttered something we couldn't hear. The woman nodded with tear filled eyes and the official began to remove his pants. We didn't understand what was going on, but we knew it was wrong.

"No matter what happens, stay back." Jack whispered as he pushed me aside and ran to the woman's aid. The old man tried to cover my eyes, but I still saw everything.

I watched as Jack tried to pull the official off the woman. I watched as the woman's husband bled out. I watched as the official hit Jack over the head with his gun.

I watched as Jack fell to the ground, as he closed his eyes, as blood dripped down his face, as he faded away.

I watched as the official raped the woman, as the little girl screamed, as the little girl cried, as the woman lost the light in her eyes, as the old man began to shake and I did nothing but watch.

I was never the same after that no one was. The amount of unjust officials in our sector increased and I lost Jack forever.

I heard a hard knock on my door and I snapped back to reality. I slide my blueprints in to the bottom drawer of my desk and pretended to continue folding a paper airplane.

"Hey, Gabriel." A voice called out. The door opened to reveal a girl. She was wearing a standard white shirt and black jumpsuit that everyone had to wear. She had tan colored skin, brown eyes and black hair that went to her upper back.

"Hey, Fareeha." I muttered as I spin around to face her, "Hey, Angela." I add as a girl with a blonde ponytail and blue eyes peaked out from behind Fareeha. They were both about the same hight as me. "What brings you here?" I asked as I threw my paper plane in their direction. It fluttered around in the air before crashing into a pile of other fallen planes. They always crash.

"You called us, remember?" Angela muttered, it always took courage for her to speak to me. After what happened to her parents, Angela had an obvious fear of men. That proved to be a problem since she was the only one in our sector who had any sort of medical knowledge.

"I called Fareeha," I sighed, "but I don't remember calling you." That wasn't entirely true. I knew that if I called Fareeha, Angela would follow in suit. I just wanted to see if she was better. I reached into the top drawer of my desk and pull out another plane.

"Here's the stuff you wanted." Fareeha sighed as she handed him a bag filled with scrap metal.

"Thanks." I said as I threw the paper plane and pulled out another as it crashed.

"You know that this is hard to come by, right?" Fareeha asked, "What do you even want it for?"

I press my finger to my lips and smirk, "It's a secret." I chuckled.

"Whatever," She sighed as they turned to leave. Angela glanced back at me as Fareeha stepped out of the room.

"I'm okay." She muttered as if she knew what I had been thinking when I called them over. She nodded her head goodbye before rushing to catch up to Fareeha.
