"Zary, you asleep?" My dad knocked at my door for the nth time at that night checking if I was asleep.
I pretend sleeping and waited till dad was assured that I have fallen asleep peacefully.
Truth is I couldn't sleep peacefully, I had insomnia for weeks now and dad got worried (which was a miracle) because I had these hideous bags in my eyes. It got worse every night. Dreams turned to nightmares, nightmares to hallucinations and me thinking that the strings of fate were strangling me and killing my father infront of me.
A minute passed and soon I heard footsteps walking away from my room. I jolted upward, got out of my bed and went to my thinking table (why I named my table that is a long story). I got my pens and coloring pens and every artsy stuff that I had and I started sketching in my sketch pad.You see when I'm stressed I draw everything that's on my mind, it helps me unwind and calms me down. I draw and sketched, wishy woshy here and there and before I knew it I was lulled to sleep by the ticking of the clock ticking and my lavender scented room.
Nightmares awaited my arrival.
