Prologue:
I watched as the Sun set, revealing the beautiful night sky. Everything seemed so calm at night, but once the Sun came back in the morning, everything changed. Everything was different, much louder in fact. That's how my life was. Every night it was calm and peaceful for me, but once morning came, the torture began. No more peace, all I heard was everyone's horrible words. My life is a mess, all because of my bully, Carl Grimes.
I haven't properly introduced myself, though. My name is Raven, Raven Lockwood to be exact. I am like an open book, somehow everyone knows my secrets before even I myself know them. Everyone knows me, but I know nobody. I don't bother to care. Why everyone knows me, is probably why they hate me. My father is a famous movie actor and director, and that's why they hate me. I'm not special for it either. People are nice to me around my father, but when he's gone, they bring me down. I don't understand why Carl Grimes has to bring me down.
I'm quite a shy person, I must admit. But I am told that I am a wonderful singer by my father, and that I should come out of my shell and sing for others entertainment. He offered to star me in a musical written by him, but I politely declined the offer.
I think that life is not measured by the good we do for ourselves, but for the good we do for others. Helping people is my main priority in life. That's why when I turned 15 a couple months back, I started working at an hospital and home for the elderly. That's enough about myself.
I look back out the window, and the sun is now shining. I hear birds chirping, and I can smell pancakes being cooked downstairs. Father calls me downstairs, and I feel drained. Another sleepless night for me. I take off my pajamas and put on a simple outfit, which consisted of a shirt with three little birds on it, and some skinny jeans. I brushed my black hair, while my blue eyes stared at my own reflection. I was very pale and skinny, and I myself didn't think I was that bad looking. But others thought I was completely hideous, according to Carl actually.
I ran down the stairs, where my father greeted me with a big hug. He was always so cheerful now. He used to be so upset, well ever since mother died, that is. But I was just happy he was better now.
He set a plate of pancakes in front of me, and I ate my food quickly. I slipped my shoes on afterwards, grabbed my bag, and then I was off to school. Carl came out of his house as well, and when he saw me he smirked. He ran up to me, and started walking next to me. Out of nowhere, he tripped me, and I fell onto the hard concrete sidewalk.
I just got right back up and continued walking. I wouldn't let him see me cry anymore. When he seen that I wasn't phased by that, he started taunting me. I just started quickly running away. When I looked back, Carl Grimes actually looked defeated for once.
When I arrived at school, I then realized I hadn't seen anyone else walking to school. I ignored the voice inside my head to go back home, and walked inside the office. But what I saw scared me, and I had the urge to scream. Blood and guts all over the wall, dead bodies, and a very sick looking person stood in the hallway.
"Hello..?" I said to the person, and they turned around. That's when I realized what I saw was no human, but something different. I had no idea what it was. It looked like a dead corpse had decided to come out of its casket.
I screamed, and it groaned, while coming after me. I ran out the door screaming, and something or someone grabbed me from behind and covered my mouth. I bit their hand, and they cursed under their breath. Guess who it was? Freaking Carl Grimes.
I pushed him away, but he grabbed my arm.
"Follow me, I don't know what's going on, but we have to get out of here." I just followed him, not wanting him to hurt me.
We arrived at a house. His house. I could tell because there were pictures of him, his dad, and his mom everywhere. His mom came rushing over, and pulled Carl into a hug.
"I'm so glad your okay," she said, trying not to cry. He hugged her back, and then grabbed 3 bags out of a closet. He filled two bags with food, then the other with knifes and a can opener.
I had no idea what was going on, and no one was telling me what that person was. But, I had a feeling they also knew nothing about what was going on. We hurried into their car, and I watched as we passed a bunch of the sick looking people.
That's how it all started.
