Sanity: Start [Book 1]

Chapter 1

The car ride was dead silent. Not many people were on the road. It seemed like a ghost town. Where am I going? My new job.

I can't say I'm "excited". If anything, I'm a bit scared. I mean, come on, this is a bit shady. No interview, barely any questions. This is weird. Plus all the rumors, who wouldn't be scared?

Nonetheless, I'm doing this anyway. I pull up to the pizzeria. It's dark, ominous and definitely scary. I take a deep breath and suck it up. I walk in and open the door. I check my phone and see it's only 11:30. I look over to a table and see clothes there. I'm guessing it's mine since it had my name on the name tag.

I walk to the nearest bathroom and quickly changed. I walk out and walk around a bit. I get to the stage. I stop dead in my tracks. I look at them, and I can't help but feel as if they're looking back at me. I have the need..the want to talk with them. So, I do.

"Um, hello? Hi, I'm (Y/n). It's nice to meet you all. I'm the one who'll be taking care of you. Now, I've heard the stories, and yeah, I'm scared. So instead of being enemies, we could be friends."

I sigh and look down to my shoes. I surely look stupid. I take one last look and head to the office. I sit in the chair and wait. I pull my phone out of my pocket. It's 11:59. Then, when it turns to midnight, the phone rings. I answer it.

"Uh, hello?"

It didn't take me long to notice it was a recording. I mute it, not wanting to hear. I swirled around in the chair, bored out of my mind. Then, to my right, I see something move. My heart races and I get up and turn on the light. To my surprise, I see a boy. I quickly shut the door.

"Nope."

Before I sit back down, he says something.

"I thought you said you wanted to be friends!"

I stop and look at the door. Hesitant, I open it and move back so he can walk in.

"Hello there. I'm Bonnie. Pleasure to meet you."

He took my hand, kissing it softly. I blush a bit.

"H-hello. Y-you're Bonnie? But--"

"I can explain later, my dear. For now, I need you to come with me."

I sigh, deciding to trust him. I know, "don't do it! He could kill you!". But hey, I'm up for an adventure. Aren't you?

"Alright. If I may ask, where are we going?"

He shook his head at me. I look at him confused.

"It's a secret."

I take his word as he leads me out the door. We walk down the dark hallway. If you looked back, you could swear you saw death. He was holding my hand gently so I couldn't get lost.

Eventually, we make it to the main part of the pizzeria. On the stage, I see a girl with yellow hair and purple eyes, a boy with brown hair and blue eyes, and another boy with red hair and yellow-ish eyes.

All three look into our direction. The brown haired boy hopped off the stage and walked to us. I hid behind Bonnie, a bit scared. He chuckled along with Bonnie.

"No need to be scared, princess. We won't hurt you. We simply want to take you up on your offer from earlier. Remember?"

I nod slowly. He gives me a warm smile. I get from behind Bonnie.

"Nice to meet you."

The other two come down from the stage and make their way twords us. I soon learn that the girl is Chica and the brunette is Freddy, and the red head is Foxy.

It's only been three hours. They're all so nice to me. Despite the fact we've just met. We make our way back to the office. All of us enjoying each other's company.

However, an eerie sound finds its way through the halls. I looks around at my friends to see them with dark looks on their faces. Freddy and Foxy close the doors. I start to get a bit nervous.

"G-guys, what's happening?"

To my dismay, no one said a word.
