A blinding ball of light streaked across the sky. As the ball got closer to Earth it grew hotter and brighter.
When the ball hit the mesosphere it started splintering apart. Small chunks of the rock started to break off and burn. By the time it breached the stratosphere it was by no means small, but it wasn't as large as before. Soon the glowing rock collided with the surface of the Pacific Ocean. Not too far from the Mariannas Trench.
Stringy vine-like roots burst out from underneath the structure. They slowly devoured the life out of every plant in a thirty mile radius, and every animal that dared to touch it. The boulder lurked at the bottom of the ocean for months, six months to be exact, until it started glowing a luminous golden yellow. Then the golden ambience accumulated at the top firing out of the water and into the sky. Frightening all the marine that saw it.

Not even a week later the rock was being hefted out of the water and onto an U.S Navy ship. The rust colored soggy rock sat on the deck. Everybody stared at it from a safe distance looking expectantly at the inanimate object. The ship was silent, until a young blonde man shoved a brunette toward it. The inexperienced Seaman Apprentice took unwilling strides approaching the solid mass. Tentatively she stuck out her hand to touch it. The brunette felt a frothy outside, but the farther she stuck her hand in the thicker the outside layer became.
Soon she reached another layer that was glassy instead of bubbly. Cupping her small hands she used them to clear the outer coating off of the smoother surface. It didn't take long due to several others assisting her in the voluntary job. Underneath the foam was a honey colored crystal like sphere. The color hypnotized the young woman. Slowly, but undoubtedly calling out to her subconsciousness. Coaxing her to grace the orb with her touch. As the others backed away her hand moved on their own accord. Firmly rooting themselves on top of an angry red blot which clashed with the soothing honey background.
The moment she palmed the blemish she crashed onto the deck. That was the moment Lillian Parker and her unknown child's lives changed for good.
