A.N. This is a sonnet I wrote for school and so I thought I'd post it.

Kids In The Dark

She and I did laugh and onwards through our

worst days, held each other tight as we could.

She was my light, shining bright. Wildflower

scent in her hair, dancing softly. We would

spend time sleeping, it was all I needed.

Running through tall grass and rolling down hills.

Two kids in the dark, a friendship seeded.

Her smile made me melt, her laugh gave me chills.

I'd be with her, together forever,

though we may be separated by time

we would grow old with each other, never

parting, unseparated by deaths chime.

A year did pass and something inside broke,

three months she's been gone, from our dream we woke.
