The hallways of 6x3, now called The White Box, are vastly different from the time I roamed them when I killed for the king. The walls are badly damaged, debris scattered all over the place form the explosion that destroyed all former employees. I can hear people working out, training for what is to come. Now, I will be doing the exact opposite. We will save the people of Earth from his wickedness.

I keep walking at a steady pace as I look down at a sticky note with a room number written on it.

"#815"

This will be my dorm room for the time we stay here, training, getting our magic worked up so we can use it against evil. We will be using our magic for good.

After walking for what seems like an eternity, I finally see the sign on the wall that reads:

"Rooms 800-899 -->"

I take a right turn and count fifteen doors and I finally see room number eight-fifteen. I turn the door knob and the door creaks open. The lights are on but for some reason that doesn't raise a question in my mind. I throw a bag of clothes Ms. Pudge gave me on the floor and let myself plummet on the bed, feeling my body relax for the first time in a while.

I let out a big sigh and close my eyes, letting my mind go blank and allowing myself to forget, for just a moment, all the craziness going on right now.

"Hi!"

My eyes shoot open and I sit up on the bed, looking left to right with a startled face. I look toward the doorway and see Charlotte standing there, a grin on her face.

"Um... Charlotte," I say, "Hello. You startled me there." I let out a small laugh. Wow. I can't remember the last time I laughed before this. It makes me feel better instantly.

"Just came to say hi to my roommate!" Charlotte squeals.

My mouth immediately drops open, free to let flies buzz in and make a nest if they'd please, and my eyes jump out of their sockets. Not knowing where to begin, I say, "R-roommate?"

"Yes!" she says while closing her eyes and turning her head up to the ceiling, as if savoring her words. "Isn't it fun! And I have a cute roommate."

Whoa. Isn't this girl like six years old? I don't know how to respond. Her comments were so ridiculous for her age that I chuckle.

"What you laughing at, Colin?" she asks, placing her hands up to her hips and squinting her eyes.

"Nothing. Well, I didn't know you were my roommate. It's a welcome surprise." I lie. I don't have anything against Charlotte. It's just that she acts so mature and childish at the same time that it scares me. I wonder if she knows what we're facing out there above.

"I'm going to take a nap, " I say, laying down again. "If you don't mind."

"No time for that," she kicks my legs that are dangling off the bed, "Training is about to start. Let's go!"

She runs up to the bed and tugs on my arm. She's stronger than I expected because she manages to move me a bit. I stand up.

"Let me change first," I say, sighing loudly. "You can wait for me outside. I won't take long."

She rolls her eyes and stomps out of the room, huffing. She slams the door shut as she walks out and I can hear her yell from the other side, "Three minutes!"

Where did this little girl get such a bossy attitude?

I open the zipper bag with clothes Ms. Pudge gave me and take out a pair of jogging pants made out of a sweat-proof material. I also pull out an athletic t-shirt along with a pair of running shoes. All of these items are red and look exactly like the clothes every other trainees are wearing, including Charlotte.
