Tyrrell's POV

I joined the local police department. Currently, I have to work with a partner, an old man named Roger McIntosh. Personally i can't wait to start working as a solo, back where I come from even in a group it's 'every man for himself.' That's how it's been since I realized that friends aren't always friends.

Back where I come from I was a man in the bad zone, from the ghetto. I used to deal drugs like my pops just to survive, back then my mother used to cry every night. I hated it when she cried but being a bad man was the goal.

I was in the wrong for so long I don't even think I've made it out yet. Tattoos are still on my chest and shoulder proving my old ways. It's proven in my walk my talk, i'm still in the wrong but I know that it's wrong now maybe I can find out what's right.

I remember when me and my friends used to run the streets. I'd never go to road without my glock 19 in my waistband. If a man ever talk too tough it'd be one bullet and that was it. And I don't laugh about killing, I never got the joke.

Back then my little brother Tyrone used to sell weed too, we were always running from the police. But Tyrone is dead now. He got shot, I never saw it coming. But I guess people never see death coming. I took it as I lesson and I went to school so I could turn into a cop to better 'my community' to show my fellow black men that we can make it out.

I think I made it out.
I hope I made it out.
The bad life ain't a easy life for sure. But I'm good now and my mom doesn't have to cry anymore, not for me at least. Though she shouldn't have cry for me since it's my choices that lead to Tyrone's death. I can't turn back time even though I wish I could just to end Chase.

I'm in a jeep with Roger. We just arrested a minor member of the Dark Mafia. I heard all about them; they are supposedly run by this young girl from the founding family now. She's dangerous from what I heard, a cruel murderer but then again I can't really judge. After all murderer used to be my title still is.
We are taking him in for interrogation, hoping he'll spill. But its highly unlikely.

I used to be a gang member, loyalty is a big deal so there really are few snitches.

"So kid." Roger said.
"The name's Taj!!" The goon yelled.
"I don't care what your name is fool!!!" Roger yelled up in the guy's face... Army style.
I don't like doing the interrogation since I was interrogated by a cop too and it isn't fun. Instead I like beating the shit out of them. It brings back the memories.

It has been an hour and Roger has been yelling all this time. Finally he said,
"Kid, I don't like your methods but right now I think you should do what you do best."
I walked over and punched the guy square in the face.
He didn't expect it.
I beat his face i, constantly asking,
"Who is your boss?!"

30 minutes of beating he finally said,"I'll take you to her. stop! stop! please." He pleaded.
