The morning sunlight began to filter through the second-floor bedroom of a townhouse on the outskirts of town, Charlotte shifted in bed as the sun touched her face. 

"Where am I?" I thought, my eyes eventually adjusted to the surroundings and I was pulled back into reality. I was in my new house in London, England because my dad had got a new job with Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic. With this clarity came the reminder I would no longer be attending Ilvermorny in America but, Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry. Considering I would be leaving for Hogwarts tomorrow, today I would be getting the supplies for 7th year at Diagon Alley. Suddenly I heard my mother scream and I knew I had slept too long, "CHARLOTTE!!! Come down for breakfast! We have to get going!!!" I rolled over in bed and with hesitation grunted "Alright, I'll be down soon" I shouldn't have been nervous about school it was my last year but I knew no one. I pulled myself out of bed to brush my hair and teeth, then gradually made my way downstairs.

My mother was a frantic mess when I arrived in the kitchen "here eat this quickly!-" as she filled pankcakes onto my plate "- I forgot all the things we still have to do today, oh my lord... I mean there's so much to do!! First, we gotta go to get your school things!- Oh, I can't believe you're going to be in 7th year!! My baby isn't a baby anymore!" I just kinda turned my mom out she was rambling again, and I had other thoughts rather than not being a baby, though I tried to ignore the feeling, I was so nervous about Hogwarts I felt like getting sick when I ever thought about it the anxiety was getting worse as this was the second time feeling like this within 10 minues. 

After I finished my chocolate chip pancakes I went to get ready. Back upstairs I rummaged through my dresser looking for something to wear. I went with tendy but scholarly? I needed to impress, which resulted in bellbottoms and a white polo. After all, 1977 was becoming my favorte fashion year. My hair was straigtened showing off my natual brown and highlighted hair wiht a headband and put some light make up on just enough to make my blue eyes pop. My dad started work today so he wouldn't be helping with any of the shopping, so my mom and I got into the fireplace and she said very clearly "leaky cauldron!" and POOF we were enveloped in green flames and landed right where we said and then right out into Diagon Alley as we were instructed. "...Wow," I said almost in a whisper, "I know," my mom said back. The place was bursting with tons of people, way more than in our small American town. Mom and I had decided to split up the list we needed to make better time, she handed me my half and said "well here's your list of things you need and where they are, I'll see you later Char! Love you!"

"Thanks, bye! I Love you too, mom" I looked down at the list still not too sure because my mom hadn't given me directions, just locations. I walked left, opposite her and started looking for a shop I needed. Not five minutes later I came across "Flourish & Blotts" the store for my textbooks. I walked in to find books everywhere I had no way of knowing where to find what I needed, so I walked over to a case of books and simply started looking, I had no luck finding what I needed, so I became frustrated and started muttering to myself, "this so stupid," "I'm an idiot!" "Why are there SO many books?!".

Then I heard someone next to me quietly laugh, I turned the shade of a tomato. I didn't think anyone but me was in here, when I turned to look at them I realized it was a boy with light brown sandly hair. I growned and thought "ugh of course a boy.." if it's possible I turned redder. "I'm sorry I laughed, it's just that you seemed a little frustrated and It struck me as funny. Well, um hi I'm Remus Lupin" he said. I cleared my head and smiled, "no it's okay, I'm just mad because I can't find what's on the list" then he stuck his hand our for me to shake and I realized I forgot to say my name so I said with a nervous laugh "ha oh yeah! I'm Charlotte, Charlotte Maxwell" and took his hand to shake back.

"So um may I help you with your list?" he said

"Yes please!" I responded handed him the list, he took it and said "Ah ha two of them are right here! These are the books I need, also, are you a transfer to Hogwarts this year?" he asked me as he pulled the books out and handed them to me. "Yeah I moved here from the U.S, are you starting 7th year too?",  "yes, ma'am! Here. This should be everything we need, shall we go pay?" I nodded and we walked to the counter, as I looked at him more I noticed that he had minor cuts and scrapes on his arms and face, but his skin seemed so soft, I hoped he was okay but I felt rude to keep staring or ask about them so I looked away.

Remus was paying in front of me and we were just having some small talk when the front door opened and with it come a lot of noise. We turned around to see three boys walk or trip over each other. The first two were quite handsome and tall, the third was short and bouncing around them looking. Once of the tall boys, this one with long black hair shouted up at the celing "MOONY?!-" and Remus sighed, looked down and shook his head "WHERE ARE YOU?" the second tall boy but with dark-hair and glasses shouted after. The small one pointed at Remus and said "there he is!" they all walked towards us and then abruptly stopped.

"He's with a girl Padfoot" the one with glasses whispered.

"I see that James...she pretty too." replied the one with long hair.

"Should we leave?" piped the short one.

"I don't know it's a rare sight to see wormy" long hair said back "maybe"

And they all started to retreat slowly backward.

We heard every word."No. Guys, really?! Come on, this is Charlotte. Charlotte this Sirius, James, and Peter" Remus said pointing to them each in turn. "Hello" I said and with that, they each shook my hand. "Remus let's go get some ice cream! You can always bring your lady friend with you.." Sirius said with a wink. Remus looked like he wanted to strangle Sirius, but turned to me instead "Charlotte? Would you like to get some ice cream with us?" I still needed to get some of my things, but I really wanted to make friends so I agreed, paid for my things and we left.
