Chapter 2
As soon as I found it, I knocked on the door and walked in. there was only one other staff member there setting up a microphone and headphones. He smiled at me and I smiled back, I then took a seat in front of the control panel, I wasn’t sure what all the buttons and nobs did yet but I will hopefully learn fast.
I then started daydreaming again imagining myself recording my own songs, creating albums…
"Hi there, my name's Luke. Richard said that there was a new chick coming to have a look at how things work, but dam I didn’t expect a hot chick like you". He said walking in my direction looking me up and down. I already know what his personality is like.
"Hi I'm Angel, and I don’t know why you are such a flirt but I am here to work not to be flirted with" I said matter of factly whilst crossing my arms. He just smirked at me, not getting the idea that I wanted him to stop acting like child.
"Umm hi, is this studio 6?"
I turned around to see a tall, handsome guy holding a guitar case standing in the doorway, and the first thing I heard was his Swedish accent that any girl would die for. He seemed polite too, unlike some people (Luke).
"Yeah, it's Cameron right?" Luke said walking over to the doorway.
"Yeah, but you can call me Cam" Cameron said shaking hands with Luke.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Luke and this is Angel. Come in man and make yourself at home" Luke said welcomingly.
"Thanks" he said with a smile, then looks at me and winks. I just gave him a half-hearted smile and waved.
Luke walked over to me and looks down at where I was sitting.
"I have to sit there gorgeous, but you can sit on my lap if you like" he said with a cheeky smile.
"Very funny, but I'll pass" I said standing up and sitting in the chair next to him.
"Your loss" he said with a smirk but I ignored him.
"You almost ready mate" Luke said to Cameron and putting up both his thumbs. Cameron smiled and put his thumbs up.
As I sat there watching him with his guitar hanging from his shoulders, I tried to imagine what his music will be like, and what his songs are about.
I started looking him over and the longer I looked the more I thought of him perfect. His black hair and long fringe, with crystal clear blue eyes. As I listened to him warming up his voice, his Swedish accent kept replaying through my head, how I wish I could wake up every day to hear that voice…..
Stop Angel. What are you thinking! This cute, polite guy most likely has a girlfriend, he is to die for of course he would.
"Umm Angel, concentrate here. Do you want to learn this stuff or not" Luke said, bringing me back to earth.
"Yes of course, sorry" I said trying not to look at Cameron so I could keep focused.
Luke then explained the procedure and asked Cameron to go ahead and sing.
He started playing guitar with a slow strum. Then he started to sing, and I could sit there all day listening to his voice. It was deep but sweet, I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. It was only the cover of a song but it was still amazing. Then I realised the song, The only exception by Paramore.
When I was younger I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart and I watched
As he tried to reassemble it
He then looked up and smiled at me in between the verse. I could feel cheeks go a little red, but I don’t know why.
"Angel you might want to close your mouth" Luke said bringing me back to earth. I turned to him and he was looking at me with an odd expression. I then closed my mouth realising that indeed it was open without me knowing. I looked away from him a little embarrassed, then realised that Cameron probably saw me with my mouth open as well.
Thank god I didn’t start drooling.
