I walked in the door, leaving the calm and warm summer weather outside into a house full of screaming children and the loud mechanical buzzing of the overused AC. I sighed and dropped my bag at the foot of the coat hanger I looked around the house at what was supposed to be a habitable space only to have my sight greeted with the coffee table missing a leg and my younger sister on top of the fridge and my twin brothers wrestling on the floor screaming bloody murder.

"HEY" I shouted, silence covering the room like a blanket I stormed over to the fridge and hoisted my sister up and off the fridge.

"TOOOPPPPHHHEEERR" she wined squirming in my arms.

"Izzy you can't do that"  I muttered frustratedly "you know that's dangerous".

I set her down on the tile floor, the second I let go of her she zoomed off most likely to her room. by the time I had gotten Izzy down the twins had resumed wrestling. I slammed my foot down on the floor, they both froze mid fight, Max grabbing Matt's hair and Matt gripping Max's shirt collar.

"Seriously guys?" I grumbled walking over to the remains of the coffee table, they both looked at me with looks of pure innocence.

"which one of you hoodlums did this?" is muttered into my hand as I rubbed my face in frustration. Without hesitation, their fingers shot up pointed at each other

"HE DID IT" the shouted in unison giving death glares to each other.

"DID NOT" Max whined

"DID TOO" Matt yelled

"DID NOT"

"DID TOO"

"BOTH OF YOU, ROOMS. NOW" I bellowed in frustration.

"fine buttface" they muttered in unison heads down as they limped to their rooms.

I bent down and swept up the splintered wood into my hands and walked over to the trash can and dumped the debris into it. I clapped my hands to clear them of the dust.

"Oh my god what will I do with them" I muttered to myself, I walked into the hall to check for further damage, luckily the destructions path hadn't reached the hall.  I knocked on Izzy's door to make sure she was in there and not in my room planning to scare me.

"what do you want"  she whimpered.

"just checking on you Iz" I said gently into the crack in the door.

"leave me alone Topher" she grumbled.

"ok Izzy" I said closing the door.

I walked down the hall to my room and collapsed into my bed.

"Summers supposed to be full of love" I muttered to myself.

"then why does no one love me?" I said to the picture of my mom on my nightstand.

"just why?".
