You Rejected Me, I Moved On

Chapter 17

I am skipping forward so this is about 3 years after John's death. 

Mallory's POV

I woke up and felt a pair of eyes gazing over me. I opened my eyes and saw Gage looking at me. I smiled at him and he grinned. He lent down and pecked my lips and I sat up. Today was one of the most important days in the Were community. The crowning of the new King and Queen. Today I would become Queen of Weres and Gage, King of Weres. Gage sat up too and looked at me with curiosity.

"Today we become King and Queen." I stated simply. He nodded and pulled me over to him. I lent my back against his bare chest and we sat there for a little. I peacefully listened to his heartbeat until it was interrupted by a knock on the door. Gage told them to come in. It was Cassie and the Queen.

I slowly got up, knowing they came to get me. Cassie looked bigger than she did yesterday. She is currently pregnant with her 3rd, 4th, and 5th children. She had twins about 2 years ago. She had two baby girls who look exactly like her. She didn't find out the genders of these ones because she wanted it to be a surprise. 

"Let's go Mal, you need to get dressed." Cassie said cheerily. I walked behind them to Cassie's room, where the dress was, and just quickly got a shower. I quickly showered and walked out in a robe. Cassie, being wishy washy, couldn't maker her mind up on whether she wanted me to put on my dress or do my hair and makeup. Her mom just told me to put my dress on so that is what I did. My dress was a deep purple with gold edges.

After I had that on, Cassie worked on my makeup while the Queen did my hair. My hair was curled into perfect spiral curls and Cassie did minimal makeup, gold eye shadow and a clear lip gloss. I stood up and walked over to the mirror in the corner. I look amazing, if I do say so myself. 

"Mal you look amazing!" Cassie said in awe. I blushed and the Queen nodded. 

"Cassie, why don't you find Julian and greet some of the guests that are here?" Cassie nodded and walked downstairs to find her mate. 

"Mallory, I am so proud of you. I can't believe that you became such a wonderful woman after being rejected, finding a second chance, having him die, and now becoming Queen. John made a good decision with having you become Queen with your mate after he died. I feel honored to know you." She said with sincerity in her eyes. I had tears in my eyes and I quickly hugged her. Thankfully, Cassie used waterproof makeup. I hugged her for a minute before pulling away.

"Thank you, Queen Rosemary. I really appreciate you guys doing this for me and Gage." She just nodded and looked at her watch.

"Well Mallory, the time is nearing and you need to get into your position. Let's go." We walked down to the main room of the castle, the ballroom. King Charlie joined us on our way down.

The ballroom was the biggest room in the castle, it had a crystal chandelier, a stair case, where the people enter, and two thrones. I stood outside of the room and waited until trumpets started. The doors opened and Queen Rosemary and King Charlie walked in first. Gage quickly ran down the hall and stopped next to me. We walked into the room and I could feel hundreds of eyes on me. I took a deep breath and grabbed Gage's hand.

We walked down the stairs and down the path that led to the thrones. King Charlie and Queen Rosemary were standing to the side. They both took their crowns off their heads and waited until the trumpets stopped playing.

When the trumpets stopped, Charlie and Rosemary walked over to us. Rosemary stood in front of me and Charlie stood in front of Gage. They raised their crowns and right before they placed them on our heads, King Charlie said,
