Highway To Heaven

Chapter 2

 As we get to the door he lifts my hand to his lips and softly kisses the back of my hand and lets go of me. I looked up into his gentle green eyes and then turned away from his gaze but I still felt his gaze on me.

"Hey Lindsey, what are you doing tomorrow?", he says gently, "I was wondering if we could do this again but I could take you out to eat and then we can go shopping if you want?". "I don't think I'm doing anything. And even so, I'll clear my schedule.", I say focused on my shoes. He's just so cute when he asks me out with a timid voice. Ha ha, I can't help but laugh because its so cute. 

"Uh, yea, I'd like that a lot. Would you like to help me pick out a summer dress for parties on the weekends or just hang outs with friends or even dates with a boyfriend." I said with a sweet/sarcastic smile. He gave me his adorable smile that made my heart flutter and blood rush to my face, surely turning my face scarlet. 

I can't believe I am the girl he chose to help him overcome going from girl to girl. I can't believe I am the girl that meets all his interests. Knowing I'm not very hard to impress or persuade, my feelings are already greatly affected by solely him. 

"Great! So can I pick you up at 4? I'll drive you home after we are done doing our plans. Okay?" He said grasping my hands in his and pulling me towards him. I begin wrapping my arms around his waist as he pulls me closer laying his chin on the top of my head. The music from his car is playing softly as we stand in silence. "Okay. I'll see you tomorrow then!", I watched as he drove away in his Chevy. 

I headed inside my dorm room and Kenzie was already on the other side of the door when I shut it. Then I headed upstairs to my bedroom to fetch my PJ's for after my shower. So I turned on the hot water of the shower and hopped in yet to find it was still cold but I waited a few seconds until it was steaming off my body. By now I am sure my body is red from the hot water but, it felt amazing. As I begin to wash up, my bathroom door opens and I peak out to see who or what it is to find out it was just my golden retriever, Molly, with her tongue sticking out from panting because of how hot it was in here. I go back to what I was doing.

I got out and put my PJ's on and brushed my teeth. When I was done, my friends were doing their homework and doing chores around the dorm. I go to my room and start to lay out my clothes for tomorrow for the date, when a sound knocks on my door.

"Hey girly, what are you doing?" Kenzie asks watching me lay out some clothes to pick from.
"Oh, just laying out clothes for tomorrow. Since, I have a date with Alex Nichols." I blurted without thinking. Ugh, I hate myself now. I am going to have the biggest lecture by Kenzie now.
"Um, could you repeat what you just said cause I don't think I heard you clearly."
"You heard right, Kenzie."
"What Have We Told You About Him. He is the BIGGEST player in this entire school." She paused for a second then continued. "Lindsey what has you gotten into you lately?"
"I don't know, it just felt right. I feel that he is trying to flip over a new leaf. But yet again I don't know."
"But I still don't understand why you chose to do that?"

"Mackenzie say you were in this situation with Alex? What would you do?" I paused. "How can you put down this relationship without even trying to make it work for the sake of friends?" I paused a second time this time hoping she would understand and just go with it but that was too much of a hope.
"Lindsey, you know the answer to that. I don't and won't like him ever I have a boyfriend that always makes me happy and I only want whats right for you, you know that. Please understand that if he does hurt you in anyway I am here to beat his a** for you. Just tell me so we can help you Linds. Jenny and I are here for you." When she was done with her sentence Jenny came in. She looked at me with a concerned look but I ignored it.
"Why was my name mentioned?" Jenny asked.
"Lindsey is going on a date with Alex. I told her that we were there for her if she needed help and that if he hurts her in anyway that we are there to beat him." Mackenzie said.
"That is exactly right. We will always be there for you." Jenny said reassuring that they will be there for me.
"You guys are the best, really. But I can handle this and if I do end up with anything I need help with I'll come to you!" I said with a confident tone.
