--Monkeys Paw--
There was once a beautiful princess with a big giant castle with amazing food and gardens.
‘I thought this story was about a dog, Grandpa?’ sadly said by a little boy who goes by the name Nathan.
‘Don’t worry little one, it is. May I continue now?’
‘Yes please’
‘Ok.’ This story is not of how a princess has been captured then saved by her prince in shining armor, but around the life of her 3 month old multipu dog named Monkey Paw. He is light brown with a dark brown patch on his back that looks exactly like a monkey’s paw.
“Here is your lunch Monkey Paw, a big juicy steak. “
“Thanks chef, it looks delicious! (Woof woof)”
“OH, here is your macaroni and cheese princess Evol”
“Tha-EWWWWW IT’S ORANGE! You know I hate the colour orange. Make me WHITE macaroni and have one of the other cooks bring it up to my room. You’re lucky I am not having you fired!”
“Sorry your majesty I will have it brought up to your room as soon as it is done”
As the princess turns around and storms out of the kitchen chef starts to boil the noodles again.
‘I would have thrown him in the dungeon if it was me and he tried to feed me broccoli!’ said Nathan like how he would have, if he had as much power as the princess.
‘OH, would you now champ, how would you feel if you were the chef?’ said grandpa
‘I guess I wouldn’t when you put it like that.’
‘Ok, where was I now?’ …chef starts to boil the noodles again.
“So what are you going to do today Monkey Paw?” asked chef once the princess was out of ear shot. “Hopefully not getting into two hundred pounds of trouble like last week.”
“Well I can’t promise anything chef. (Bark)”
At that Monkey Paw finishes up his steak and heads off to check to make sure everything is running as should around the castle.
“HELP-HELP-A-PRISONER-IS-ESCAPING-HELP”
Monkey Paw came bellowing down the hall faster than a rocket. “Don’t worry I am coming. (Bark, bark)” If something was askew Monkey Paw would be the first one there.
Shortly after Monkey Paw arrived at the scene there was a door banging upstairs and more guards appeared behind him.
The prisoner was standing with a guilty grin on his face and about a dozen and a half more standing behind him.
“You guys made a fatal mistake. (Woof, woof, bark)” There was a light laughter from the guards behind him.
Later that day all prisoners whom fought back when they were told they would be killed immediately if the caused any more trouble and did not go straight back behind the bars. That ended up being all but 3 out of the 19.
In all the chaos Monkey Paw was tossed and thrown around so much he passed out completely.
When he awoke he was in the medical wing and the princess was nowhere to be seen. No one was there but a visitor from distant parts of the country. When the strange man saw that Monkey Paw was awake he pulled something out of his pocket. At first Monkey Paw could not tell what it was but as the man walked closer he realized what it was.
“No not a needle” Monkey Paw tried to yell but it hurt and no sound came out. He tried to run away but he was to week and sore to move. The stranger stood motionless for a second then inserted the needle and said, “Don’t worry boy I only want to help make you better.”
That night Monkey Paw heard subdued weeping coming from the window. He did not have to see her to know it was princess Evol.
She came over to him tears still coming from her eyes.
‘Sniffle –sniffle.’
‘Hey Nathan are you ok, you are crying.’ Said grandpa concerned.
‘Yah I am ok, it’s just so sad. Will Monkey Paw die?’
‘Do you want me to finish so we can find out?’
‘Yes please’ said Nathan nodding his head rapidly up and down.
‘ok’ She came over to him tears still coming from her eyes. She sat down and promised him he will get better and that she won’t leave his side till he is.
But days passed and he was not getting any better. That’s when Evol’s awful confirmation of her fears finally came.
“I am so sorry Monkey Paw. SOB. I thought they would be able to help you. SOB. But you were hurt too badly. We had people from all over the world here to help. SOB. SOB. But, but it did not help.” And at that the princess started balling.
In the meantime there had been a loud knock at the door and the chef walked in. He had a big bowl of macaroni and cheese.
“I am sorry princess there was only orange cheese left I am sorry.”
To every one’s surprise she turned around and walked to chef and hugged him. “I am sorry for yelling at you I should not have threated you that way.” She let go and walked to the nurse and hugged her. “I am sorry I every called you a bully for hurting me. But I had no right to. You were only trying to help cure the cut I had given myself well running in the halls which you have all advised me not to do. I am sorry if I have ever yelled at you or ever threatened to fire you or have kicked you or if I have hurt you in any way at all. I am sorry!”
In the background there was a small almost unnoticeable woof.
“Oh,” started the princes as she walked toward Monkey Paw. “I am sorry for ever scarring you and bossing you around. I am sorry everyone!” Monkey Paw lifted his head and gave the princes a big sloppy doggy breath kiss.
All around the room everyone was tense because they were not sure how the princess would take it but all she did was laugh and said “I think he will be ok!”
‘The end’
‘Wow, grandpa that’s the best book you have read to me so far. Can you read it again tomorrow?’
‘Yah maybe you can help me read it next time. What do you think of that?’
‘I think that it would be wonderful grandpa.’
‘Ok. We will read it tomorrow then. Why don’t we go get some ice-cream champ?’
‘Ok grandpa you know what I want a multipu with a spot on its back the shape of a snakes tongue so I could call it snake tongue.’
