Joslin POV

We said bye to Lloyd this morning and I dropped Mel off at my moms and I headed to Waffle House. I walk in Waffle House. And he's there on his phone and my phone starts to buzz and it says

"CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN<3"

I laugh and sit in the booth.

" Hi,how you doing" He says with a smile

" Good." I say

" Well when I tell you this you gotta promise to never repeat it . Don't tell anybody not even Lloyd.

I knew it was serious

" Ok.just go." I say

" You know that I was a drug dealer. And before I met you I was dealing with this dude and I had to do something for him so I did. But I guess I didn't do right and he got mad. I thought that it was ok cuz my brother said he handled it. so that's when I met you and I fell head over heels. And Mel died later on in our relation ship. You know I was still selling and I constantly cheated on you and lied and things and got your life almost taken because of my bad ways before and I'm sorry for that. I really am sorry for losing your trust numerous of times and I was a lucky nigga for you still sticking with me." He says

" That still doesn't explain your affair and how you left me and how you were protecting me doing this." I say

"That night I was selling and this girl came up to me and I'm sorry but I fell for it and went to her house with her. She sat me in a chair and said she had a surprise for me. But she didn't come back that dude I was talking about before said that I had to work for him for month. Of course I said no but he said he would kill you. I told him that I didn't have a girlfriend but he showed me some live footage of you sleeping and I couldn't let him take you away from me. He also said he would kill my nieces and my mom and yours and my sister . Everybody. He showed me all their addresses and their cell phone records and everything and i couldn't let him do that so I had to break up with you."

" Still don't get it." I said getting irritated that he not getting to the point.

" We made a deal that I would work for him and he would leave y'all alone. But i knew he was gonna hurt y'all anyway. So he wouldn't believe me if I said I didn't care about my family so I had to make him believe that I really didn't love you. So I told him that I was just messing with you because I need a place to stay and that it would be an easy job to hurt you and dump you. I made up that plan and we went to the house and I had to pretend I didn't love you and all the things I did that night. I swear that it was the hardest thing I've ever did in my life."he explains

" What about your family? what did you do to protect them?" I add

" I worked for him an extra two months and moved my family to Houston. I just want you to know that I will never hurt you like that purposely and that I never stopped loving you and I never will. You are my everything and you will always be." He said saddened by the memory.

" I'm so sorry that you had to go through that." why didn't you tell me after you were done your time." I ask

" I asked Lloyd were I would find you and he said that you've been in the hospital ever since that night and that you were in a deep depression and that you tried to kill yourself so they won't let you have any visitors. So I waited till you got better and they told me you moved but they didn't tell me where and your family didn't want me in your life again so they wouldn't tell me where you were. And Lloyd, he wasn't gonna to tell me for the better and I respected that but I never stopped thinking about you or stop loving you."

August POV

I can see the sadness in her eyes. And that she didn't want to relive those memories. She was looking into the distance.

" Oh.well thank you for saving my life." She says still looking in the distance about to cry.
