Love Is Like A Rose

Maybe More Than Friends

Kasumi kept thinking about what she had found out about herself. "This can't be true, it's clear that I like Yakumo, but we are cousins, doesn't that mean that love between family is forbidden?" She continued to question herself but knew that she had to avoid telling Yakumo the truth about how she felt. Yakumo was exactly the same "How am I supposed to tell my cousin that I am in love with her?" He asked himself over and over again. They both knew that they were forbidden to be together as they were cousins but they had known each other for so long, they couldn't forget about how they felt about each other.

Kasumi stayed in her room to read one of her science books and after about 3 hours she knew that she needed some air. However when she got her coat she felt something in her pocket. She took and it out and saw that it was a well folded note and her eyes widened "This must be for the person that left me that rose." She hastily opened the note and started to read.

Kasumi, I know that this is out of character for me but I couldn't hold it in any longer. Ever since I had that chat with with 10 years ago I realised that I did have a crush on you. I left you this rose because it reminds me of you beautiful and you have a few thornes as you scare me sometimes. When I'm in doubt you always bring out the best in me and I always love seeing you smile and you are a great scientist. I will never doubt how I feel about you even though love between cousins is forbidden. I'll always be here for you, Yakumo Katou.

She closed the note that Yakumo had left her and her face was one of shock and disbelief. "Oh my goodness Yakumo has a crush on me to, why did he never tell me about this?" She decided to get some air and went outside for a walk, little did she know that Yakumo was outside as well just thinking about the note. "Will Kasumi ever find out about the note that was on that rose?" They both knew that being in love with each other was wrong but they really wanted to tell each other about how they felt. Kasumi was just walking the streets thinking about the note which was on the rose the entire time.

Suddenly Yakumo brushed right past Kasumi and she grabbed his shoulder and pulled him aside. Yakumo looked stunned however little did they know that the other Ninningers were watching the two of them but they didn't want to get distracted. "Kasumi, how did you know where I was?" She looked at him with lifeless eyes and replied to him easily "I didn't but after I saw the note you left me, I had to go and clear my head." Yakumo nodded his head and then his eyes widened "Wait, you know it was me?" Kasumi nodded her head and told him that she found the note in her pocket and Yakumo totally understood that she found the note unattached from the rose. "Yakumo, why didn't you tell me how you felt?" She asked him and he looked downwards "I didn't tell you because love between family is forbidden and I knew that I had to keep it a secret form you."

She had a full face of shock and nodded her head, "I doubt that you know that I like you to." Kasumi eventually said with a smile and Yakumo raised his head and was rather surprised but he eventually smiled. Kasumi could feel that she was blushing and she looked down with a smile because she didn't want Yakumo to see that she was blushing. However he cupped her cheeks and raised her eyes to equal level with his. She stared into eyes and he stared into hers and they just didn't know what to do.

Kasumi closed her eyes for a moment and Yakumo quickly took advantage of the fact that her eyes were closed and he brushed her cheek and lightly kissed her lips and somehow Kasumi's eyes stayed closed because she knew that they both wanted this. They broke apart and they both looked away and Kasumi kept smiling at the fact that Yakumo just kissed her. She never thought he would ever kiss her and Yakumo knew that even though that their love was forbidden they both didn't care because they wanted to be together. They both turned back to face other and they both smiled at each other, their hands linked together and Yakumo brushed her cheek once again and kissed her again and Kasumi felt a smile on her lips as she kissed him.

They broke apart again and their hands stayed linked together and they smiled at each other. "I've been wanting to do that for a long time." Yakumo said to her and she nodded her head "Me to." They decided to head back to the dojo but their hands stayed together because they never wanted to lose each other.  Yakumo was so happy that Kasumi felt the same that he did and they finally had what they wanted, each other. Even if family love was forbidden, they still wanted to be together.
