The afternoon sun cast shadows across the Knight families' living room. A young girl a few years old sat in the middle of the room on their large red carpet. The homely room opened up to a staircase just around the corner where a short corridor leads to the front door and the vast outside world. The young girl Holly played with some toy vehicles as William the young father with neat light brown hair and a straight, strong figure, sat beside his daughter.

"ZOOM, zoom!, PEW PEW PEW!!" William laughed, as his daughter giggled back, "Alice" called William.

"Yeah?" Alice responded. Holly's cheery mum looked around the corner from the kitchen, her long blonde hair waved in the air as her head peered out from nowhere.

"You know whats going on with this phenomenon and a possible venture?" William added.

"Yeah?" Alice replied with a confused tone as she walked into the room

"Well, I've been accepted."

"Really?" Alice shouted as she giggled with excitement and ran into the room and hugged William.

"The results were out last night and I'm going to start training next week!" William blurted.

"Oh that's amazing! I'm so happy for you!" Alice spoke, but she then paused as she let go of their hug and her tone died down "But wait, what do your parent's think of it?"

"Well..." William spoke as a hint of guilt seeped in his voice.

Suddenly loud knocks echoed through the house from the door. Startled William turned and walked towards source of the sound. Meanwhile Alice sat down beside Holly and started to play with the toys. William turned to look at them and a small smile creeped across his face before he turned back to the door and opened it.

There stood two silhouettes, one large broad man, and one thin proud women. It was his parents. They stood there like two tall bears waiting for their prey. The old man walked though with his big bushy beard, which appeared like a shrivelled brown hedge hanging from his meaty chin. He wore a large brown posh looking jacket with a chain linking from a pocket to his dark blue undershirt. The old bear took off his brown fedora revealing his balding head as he entered the household. The old woman shortly followed with her chin in the air, almost like a dog on its hind legs. She was wearing a posh coat and a large expensive feathery hat. The women gave a sharp snobby look as she walked past William, then formally the man and woman went and sat down on the large sofa in Williams living room.

William slowly closed the door as his tone leaked confusion and anger "Hello mum, hello dad" William muttered before following them.

William followed and sat down on the chair opposite them. "Hello Alice" said the man with a deep stern voice leaning over with his hands clasped together. The old women sat to his left with her chin pointing into the air like she was sky gazing.

"Hello Frank, how have you two been?" asked Alice looking up at his snobby grin

"Oh you know, the usual, but we're here to talk about something important" Frank proposed.

"And what's that?" Alice replied.

"Your Husband!" the old woman sternly added.

"What about him?" Alice asked

"He's gone and signed up for this anomaly programme!" Frank replied, as his temper rose.

William locked his gaze at his parents and gave them a stern look, "I'm right here!"
