Layla's POV
"Lucy!" I shouted as tears began to run down my face. I wrapped my arms around her with the fear of losing her again.
"Mom..." Lucy said with a faint smile.
I could tell that something was wrong so I quickly pulled back and looked into her eyes. I saw pain, sadness, the fear of being forgotten. I looked down at her legs and saw that they were heavily bandaged.
"Lucy...who did this to you." I said staring deep into her eyes. She was scared to say who had abused her so badly. I already had a guess,
"Jude." I said in an aggravated tone.
Before I could ask Lucy more questions about the one who had damaged her so badly, I heard someone unlock the door . I quickly used the magic I learned while I was away and made my escape with Lucy. I had just enough magic to teleport the both of us outside of the house. When Jude entered the house he screamed Lucy's name with disgust. I had to turn around after I saw what he was about to do if he found Lucy.
"Mom...why did you leave me alone with him?" Lucy said emphasizing 'him'.
"I'll explain everything once we are safe Lucy," I said walking through the trees trying to escape Jude.
"Lucy..." Jude said in a scary tone.
"Oh no, he caught up! LUCY RUN, NOW! PLEASE!" I said while making a hidden trap to make Jude lag behind.
"Mom...I- I can't leave you again. Promise that you'll be right behind me..okay?" Lucy said in a serious tone.
"I promise. I won't lose you again." I said hiding my face behind a branch.
I watched as Lucy ran with a trail of tears behind her.
"I love you Lucy..." I said unable to control my tears.
"I love you more mom..." Lucy said running for the first time in years.
